AV full of AFKers

No one seems to care so is this the new way to get Rank 14 just set up a bot to AFK for 50 hours?

I feel like they should just put the pvp gear on vendors for anniversary. then all the people that dont want to pvp but just want the gear don’t have to ruin everyone’s fun by AFKing in AV.

I know for a fact that there are lots of people who enjoy AV for the PVP. Battlegrounds don’t need rewards as an incentive because the PVP is enough. the rewards are what the AFKers want and they aren’t going to play for them so just give them to them.

They are on vendors, PvP vendors.
R14 is so easy to obtain with the rank decay disabled.

ya but people are still AFKing for them. just remove the rank requirement and while you’re at it remove the rep requirement on the BG rewards and you will never have another AFKer in BGs.

Anniversary is too short to care if people afkd to their gear or just bought it at 60

Beats me why they’d use a bot when many got a drinking bird toy to peck their keyboard instead.

The pvp gear is too strong to just ‘put on a vendor’.
It should be locked behind pvp ranking.

We should just introduce better anti-afk measures, instead of trivializing classic.

Anniversary Classic is already trivialized. At least let the people who enjoy PVP play with other like minded players without having 10-15 AFKers dragging them down.

Blizzard has had 20 years to “introduce better anti-afk measures” they are either unwilling or incapable.

with the expedited speed of phases in anniversary people are not going to have enough lockouts in PVE to properly gear for the next round anyways. let everyone fill in their gaps with pvp gear.

I report anyone who hasn’t looked like they’ve moved in 15 seconds unless they’re waiting to rez.

so you are actually now not contributing because your too busy reporting people to pvp. Wouldn’t you rather just not have to think about it and just PVP with others who just want to PVP.

imagine being in a BG where everyone has the same level gear and everyone is there because they enjoy pvp and just want to win.

this is why xp off BGs was always so much fun. there was a gear ceiling and the only reward was PVP

If you want pvp only server where you get gear for free, then this is wrong game for you.

I like to fish the vendor in AV sells fishing poles.

Personally I dont like PVP, the only time I ever enjoyed pvp was XP off twink BGs and TBC arena season 1-2.

all I am saying is that you can End AFKing in BGs (specifically on anniversary servers where it would be less impactful) by giving out the pvp gear for gold

It has been…miserable the last 3 days in AV.

It won’t be afk players all of April. It’s bad now because the slowest/laziest players are doing AV now, everyone else finished over a month ago.

The people who afk in av are the same ones who take 3 months to hit level 60. Make sense?

They should actively suspend and de-rank AFK’rs.

First suspension 5 days.
Each following suspension 3X longer than the last

Every time you’re suspended your character is reduced in rank to private and all PVP loot is removed from your character

De-ranking afkers is the only solution to this nonsense. It’s one thing to DC because of internet outage. It’s another to still sit in cave at minute 10, typing up a storm. Seems to be a reoccurring theme with the levels 50-55 people.

Water is wet.

AV launch weekend - 5 min games.
Week 2 - 10 min games
Week 3 - 12 min. Games
Weeks 3-7 15 min games.

Month 2 - afk dads with 5 kids 2 wives, 5 jobs. 39 min games.

For what it’s worth, I care… it’s just that most other folks, including Blizzard, don’t seem to.

I got my R14 playing AV last fall. Sure, it stings a bit that I achieved that alongside a lot of Cave Crusaders but you know what? I still played my heart out every single game, doing my best to help my team and rally when the chips were down. I had some amazing games and some fantastic experiences. It was a long grind while I certainly have some opinions on that particular system, I don’t regret taking the opportunity to do it.

So I choose to view my R14 grind and subsequent achievement positively. Yes, it sucks that people abuse the system, but I didn’t and I now wear my R14 gear proudly as I smash my giant sword into my Horde friends

I’ve given up hope that Blizzard will do anything about this. It’s been over 5 years on Classic and the same stuff has been present for the last 20 on the retail stream. Only you can decide what kind of player you want to be, I guess.

ya you just stand there and BAM epic gear
