Is it just me or is this system completely ridiculous? I’ve made several call outs of strategy at the start of the games in bgb only to be met with people telling me to shut up and next thing I know I have a warning that I’ve been reported.
It just discourages people from even typing in chat now. I now have turned off my ingame chat because I don’t feel like having my account suspended for simply talking in an MMO.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Yeah man, nobody listens anyways. Just turn chat off, report people who are playing bad for intentionally throwing, go next.
Yeah literally don’t talk at all during the game, blizzard basically is going to ban anyone who is reported it doesn’t matter what you say.
Pretty sad you are just completely disincentivized to type in fear of someone saying something back and the hivemind just reporting you because someone says ‘you are throwing’.
I always thought people were just overreacting but this just confirms it for me, so I guess i just disable chat.
Oh well I guess I just treat it like a solo q ARPG and not an MMO.
I’m scared of Vrakthris exposing my chat logs now. XD

That’s not at all what your quoted message said:
“So add to that spamming “Help FC” a dozen+ times as well as other messages, it can earn a penalty.”
What part of that says “Yeah literally don’t talk at all during the game, blizzard basically is going to ban anyone who is reported it doesn’t matter what you say.”
Spamming chat has always been against the rules and is something you can be reported and actioned over. Don’t spam, don’t cuss, don’t insult others, and don’t bring up politics and other RL issues in-game and you’ll be fine.
This tired old topic from the incontinent mouth crew.
Control yourself and you won’t get account action.
I got actioned in BC once, learned. Never again in all that time.
I still talk in BG, I have instructions macros and everything.
Never actioned since BC.
Learn self control.

Yeah spamming is only okay when you are advertising boosts. Clown
I don’t boost others, nor do I advertise boosting.
But it’s still not okay, so if you see someone spamming you can report them.

I’ve been T-bagged, flag of ownership and emote spammed on when a team has dogpiled on me. Should they all receive a week suspension for that or is it exclusively mean or strategic call outs that enable the suspension / silence / ban hammer ?

AFAIK, you can report people for emote spam.
Probably not for the Flag of Ownership, it’s being used in the way that it was intended.
T-bagging, not sure, probably not though.

Yup and since I got silenced I screenshot it all and send to blizz and report.
Flag of Ownership. Nah im a fairy and easily offended now so I report that aswell because im offended
T-bagging I am incredibly offended by so I screenshot and send it to blizz.
Everyone can get some

Nope. Not just you. I’ve done incs, calls, asking certain people if they’d politely do certain things; then dismissed toxicity in chat, asked people not to talk to me that way. I’ve been silenced twice this last month, received my suspension last week. Luckily had two accounts to play, but long gone are the days of ‘‘talking shop’’ in BG chat. The culture has changed massively. Not sure when it happened (I’ve been on hiatus, playing Classic), but Battlegrounds are a real ‘‘safe space’’ now.
People are openly toxic in chat, but then happily report you behind your back.

I don’t report people if I don’t like what they are saying I /ignore them like a normal functioning human.

Reporting them does both.
But with the added benefit that they won’t then become someone else’s problem.
A problem ignored is not a problem solved.

You’re implying that “normal functioning” humans don’t report people who violate the rules? Is that what you really want to say?

Yes I am not crippled with anxiety anytime someone says something slightly displeasing. That would be a normal functioning human.

Do you really think that’s why most people use the report function? Because they are “crippled with anxiety anytime someone says something slightly displeasing?”
Why don’t you feel the same about those who use the ignore function?

They believe College campus is like the real world…
Fact the REAL world is not a safe space, its a danger space. Rude to someone in public, they might just snap lol.

Yes absolutely that and people abusing it hoping to get someone in trouble for various reasons generally anger over losing a game or some other debacle. Anyone who is a normal functioning human is emotionally stable enough to ignore people and not need to tattle
