AutoHotkey and bypassing a protected feature

Hello, I’m making an addon and I’m wondering if AutoHotkey is legal to automate a process in 2024. All it will do is help me buy and sell items in trade chat on multiple accounts. I would greatly appreciate an up-to-date answer, as everything I can find is outdated. Thanks!

Automation is bannable, use at your own risk.

Alright.
Lets say i open trade and when it closes that causes an AHK script to go active, that should be fine right?

Go read section C. ii.

I have read posts by people that claim to have had their accounts banned and closed for having AutoHotkey active in their system while playing WoW even with no script running.

This.

There isn’t much clarity about what kinds of software will trigger an account action for disallowed automation, but having AutoHotKey active in the system (even if idle and not talking to WoW) seems to be a reliable recurring theme in suspensions I’ve seen complaints about.

“<Anything> and bypassing a protected feature” has all sorts of red flags even before AHK gets involved.

Thank you, everyone! It appears that it’s not authorized and could be dangerous, so I won’t be using it. I’ll look for other options. I appreciate your responses!
