I’m having a strange issue with my Enh shaman. Auto-Attack WILL NOT STAY ON.
Example: I hit StormStrike and no other button Auto-Attack will turn on with the button press and then about .5 sec after the attack lands AutoAttack Turns off. This happens with all my other buttons as well.
They keybinds don’t have macros on them and I’ve tried turning off all my addons and it keeps doing this.
I’m pretty sure this isn’t the intended way it’s supposed to work but I cannot find a setting that has anything to do with auto-attack.
Suggestions?
Do you just not see numbers going or does your character drop the combat stance entirely? Try right clicking a training dummy from outside of melee range and see what happens.
Now it’s really weird – I noticed this when I was out in the world questing. I can reliably recreate this when i’m on a mob. But on a training dummy – it happily auto-attacks like it should.
I’m not sure what the issue is, but you can try bypassing the issue by creating macros for your main attacks, like:
#showtooltip Stormstrike
/startattack
/cast Stormstrike
#showtooltip Lava Lash
/startattack
/cast Lava Lash
#showtooltip Lightning Bolt
/startattack
/cast Lightning Bolt
Ok so i went and tried other mobs rather than the quest ones and auto-attack works on them -_-
It might just be these quest mobs. I’m going back over there to test and I’ll report back. ./sigh

No idea what’s going on anymore…now it’s working on the quest mobs. The only difference is that I had the Wheeeee buff on before…it’s since fallen off. I’m not going back to test that now but I will sometime later.

I need to do this for our spells. I HATE how if a mob dies in AoE and I am in the flow for a hailstorm or chain lightning I get the error (I don’t have a target). While our melee abilities will auto select the closest target.
Haha yup. Just be careful because sometimes you can accidentally pull a nearby group of mobs with it.
