I’ve been having this weird issue for a while now. Sometimes when I land my drake I’ll find that somehow auto-walk has turned on. It makes it very difficult to land on small ledges as my drake will continue to walk and fall off the other edge.
Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?
I honestly have no idea. Others have told me they can’t stop their drakes when landing sometimes and I can’t figure that out for the life of me. Mine just lands with a thud and doesn’t move every single time. I haven’t been able to recreate it, either.
Try “accidentally” hitting the autorun keybind while you’re airbone and avoid pressing forward or backward on either a controller or keyboard movement keybind, as well as clicking both LMB+RMB together. That may cause you to autorun after landing.
Default autorun keybind is NumLock.
Additionally, if you’re holding both LMB+RMB when you land, you’ll run, and you might not even realize why. I’ve done that a few times too due to spasms in my right hand.
I think it’s the angle, I’ve seen it happen when I land at an angle close to the ground, but if I land with my nose pointed at the ground it’s never happened. It’s strange but I just figured it was how it was designed, momentum and junk.
If you land on any incline that is greater than 2゚… You will auto run mounted or unmounted. You won’t stop until you hit the backwalking button or right click turn.
I’ve never had this happen and I’ve purposely tried to recreate it.
I reinstalled my game fresh, no addons carried over, nothing, all files and all Bnet was deleted. I’m wondering if that has anything to do with it, because for the life of me, I can’t recreate this bug.
It’s becoming a weird obsession now to keep trying. LOL
I’ve got two miners and two herbalists. I’ve been landing on all sorts of uneven terrain at all angles and still my mount just slaps down and stays put.
Ohhhh yes, I love flying down to grace the water but one of my characters has the booties and comes to a sudden stop. I would like if it required a sharper degree to activate.
It happens to me from time to time. The first thing to notice is that you don’t actually need to press forward or autorun on your drake at all; it doesn’t impact the forward momentum of a drake at all to hold the run forward key.
I think when I realised that it started happening a lot less often.
