Auto upgrade Heirloom Gear

Please auto upgrade max level heirloom gear and stop requiring tokens to upgrade every expansion please. I’ve spent more on wow tokens to upgrade mine than the original expansion costs =/ is this really necessary? I think it should auto level to the max level when the expansion allows it.

I spend holiday currency. Why waste gold on subpar gear?

Actually, I didn’t even upgrade anything for SL, because it just wasn’t worth it.

Heirlooms are gold sinks thats why they cost so much

You really don’t need them as a mandatory to begin with, the exp bonuses they gave were removed long time ago, questing gear is equally powered as heirloom gear while leveling

The cost would be worth it if the gear was equivalent to blue gear when leveling but it’s pretty much all trash now and the bonus exp was gimped too, i really don’t see myself ever paying to upgrade them again.

It is? When I get drops from dungeons, those pieces are usually equal to or lower. In the rare cases where they’re “better,” it’s by one lousy point that’s irrelevant when I level up two minutes later. :woman_shrugging:

Heirloom upgrades only matter for the next expansion

I kept my heirlooms at BfA levels, when 10.0 is out I’ll upgrade them to SL levels

id be happy if they just made it 1 item to upgrade them, never sure which one is for which level… just make it 1 item or ad levels to them.

They’re very “meh” now, the sets went from being a really good set of blues, to being maybe on par (depending on where you’re leveling).

100% this. Honestly the gold I spent on them before the change feels absolutely wasted. It wouldn’t be so bad if they adjusted the stat bonuses to compensate for what they were intended to be, but now the message is pretty much “we hate heirlooms and people who use them, suck it losers!”

They are on par now. And that was done on purpose, because people were being ridiculous to players who didn’t have heirlooms and kicking them from lowbie dungeons because they didn’t have good enough gear.

It was the craziest thing I’ve heard people do, but I even witnessed it for myself a bunch of times. lol

No, the message was, “we want everyone to be equal when it comes to getting dungeon gear or having heirlooms.”

Leveling was fixed, there was no need to keep exp buffs on heirlooms when you can level to 60 easily within a days worth of playing

The feeling you get cause they removed it is “feeling privileged”

The discontent seen so far is IMO more reason to make the gear level auto max out as allowed. We don’t think it’s worth the cost to upgrade. Might as well make them max allowed level by design!

I still use them to level. It’s easier than changing gear and transmog every time I do a quest.

And this is why they’ll remain a gold sink.

I’d be so down for this. As an altoholic (a term I created but I have no proof) I am tired of having to buy the upgrades every expansion.

I first heard it in Everquest.

Imagine saying this after going on many rants about how people need to “earn” gear in other threads. Yikes.

Phil really needs your $20.

Sorry, why exactly will it remain a gold sink instead of being a perk of long standing users?

Heirlooms aren’t really worth it anymore. Rested xp is useless, the stat increase almost always happens during quest turn ins so you can’t get the most out of it and the stats are equal to blue gear. Mine end at 35 and I honestly don’t even notice it.
