Honestly even if the one button rotation had me doing the same amount of dps as playing normally i’d still not use it. the one button feature is largely for new players or players needing some kind of accessibility feature. If you really enjoy this game why would you brainlessly use a one button rotation if you dont really need it? Just brain turned off at the keyboard. then why play the game?
Death knell?
Or final nail in the coffin?
Another death nail? Since Cataclysm there have been thousands of death nails with each one meaning the game was over for good. Strangely enough while dying it’s bitter death and no longer being a thing, WoW has remained one of, if not the number one MMO on the planet.
Just get a foot pedal and do bounce bounce bounce
Heh…death nail. Heh
Rotation assists and one button macros have existed for a long time. This is just doing away with those chunky options and making it easier to setup and use. Great for new people to learn the game without dealing with sometimes messy rotations straight away, and for accessibility for disabled people.
Whenever I see a “doom” post like this I just see someone who is scared they will not be able to feel superior to others anymore just because they can press their buttons better. That superiority is also over disabled people who have to use clunky options to keep up. It’s not a good look for op.
No, we’re not. Not even close. Also, it’s the auto-hunt system, not auto-play. Auto-hunt is basically a tool Aion has to help players who don’t want to grind excessively (which is very much a requirement in Aion; it is very grind-heavy). Essentially the auto-hunt feature allows you to set up the skills and recovery items you want to use, and then you go out to an area of the world where you need to excessively grind, activate the auto-hunt feature, and the game will grind for you while you do something else with your time.
It cannot be used to complete story missions; it cannot be used in a group or raid (or in group or raid content). You cannot use it in zones where flying is required or when you are flying, etc. There are a lot of restrictions on it. But it does allow you to enjoy the game without having to grind excessively since the game can do that for you, rather than forcing you to do it.
The excessive grinding was one of the many criticisms players had with Aion, especially in the West, for years. But it was also something some players, especially in eastern regions, enjoyed. So rather than remove it and piss off their eastern player base, they added an auto-hunt feature so that those who do not want to subject themselves to the grinds don’t have to.
The one-button rotation that Blizzard is adding to WoW as an accessibility feature is not even remotely close to Aion’s auto-hunt feature. The one-button mode does not play the game for you. It simply allows you to carry out your basic rotation while pressing only one button, which is very important for those people with injuries or disabilities that make classes with complex rotations impossible for them to play.
That’s what they want you to believe. I guarantee you it’s one poorly paid intern.
Sorry bud, but that’s just incorrect. I literally know people that work with that team.
