I was doing a quest for the Mechagnomes and I had to get a homing copter. As I was flying back watching the thing follow me I had a thought of how freaking cool it would be to have one full time that auto loots for you. I would love that. Maybe have settings that don’t pick up grey items for those of you that don’t like free gold

Just like in d3. I’m surprised they didn’t copy that mechanic over to wow and added it to pets. I guess it made too much sense.

That would be nice but my Loot-a-Rang is close enough. Tempts me to make most of my alts engineers just to be able to use it.

with the right macro Loot-a-Rang is such a game changer. Glad there is someone else that loves it as much as me.

It’s smarter than that. Don’t have to target anything. If you think there’s something you haven’t looted in range, just click it and it will loot if possible.

People on Classic would scoff at such a thing.
And people on Classic would be crazy to do so.
My hunter and “fetch.” Or for an engineer, the looterrang.
For an embarrassingly long time, during Legion after dropping engineering at the start, my Hunter lamented not having the Looterrang anymore. All that time, when seeing “fetch” on the vendor, I assumed it was something where your pet and you could play “fetch” with a ball… Boy was my face red

I miss WildStar. WS had like a vacuum loot button. It’s why all my new alts are engineers just for the loot-a-rang. The rest of the profession is just gravy.
I still use the engineering loot a rang, clear area and spam it like 3 times and everything is looted
I don’t miss the days of getting yelled out for looting mobs and holding the run up. God help me if they were also skinable and I was on my skinners.

Yeah, the downside is the engineer thing tho. That’s a big one for me. They could just bring back the old one and remove the wod restriction tho. It worked fine for a while until “fun was detected and removed” /sigh.
Yeah, in WoD I sent Loot-a-Rangs to all of my alts, and then they made engineering required to use it, bleh. As an engineer main I generally like exclusive perks, but distance looting was so convenient that I wanted it for all of my characters.

I’ve had issues with it in the past with it requiring a target, so I made that macro a while ago.
