No matter which key I switch it to, it NEVER auto loots when I press it. It usually just does the default action for each key it automatically assigns me to. For instance: ALT just does nothing at all, CTRL puts me in the dressing room, and SHIFT compares gear stats. None of them auto loot.
What can I do to make the auto loot key work?
You need to hold it while right clicking on the mob, not the items in the loot window. Personally I’d set auto loot as the default.
I usually have it as default, but it gets annoying when you run an old raid and you loot all the trash that overflow your inventory.

If you have it enabled by default then holding the modifier when you right click a mob will disable it for that interaction.
