I have been on WOW since day one… I get giving people extra bag space as a reward for signing up for those stupid things, but forcing people to get one by taking away important gameplay options is infuriating!!! I hate advertising posts in the M+ group finder, but I would gladly put up with it for the ability to put the details of my run. also, this takes the ability to post for another member of the group with a different level key as you can’t even change the level that autoposts. Blizzard has done some good and bad changes over the years, but they finally may have given me reason take my money and move on… bet they get more complaints over this BS move then they ever did from advertisments in M+ finder.

I have a 3 year old phone and Cricket Wireless as a plan, and it suits my needs. This does not work with what Blizzard is expecting people to be using. So no Auth for me.
I played Everquest for 10 years, never got my account compromised. Been playing WoW since late 2016 and never had an issue with my account.
So unless they come up with a different solution, I am not going to be hosting any legacy raid mount runs.
Yea, I just saw this today. Cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the game.
I already pay a subscription to play the game, I’m not putting an app on my phone to be able to run keys.

Funnily enough, there are as many advertisers in group finder right now as always.
I feel like a different in-game set of requirements as an alternative to be able to edit text would actually help everyone in this case. Similar to the Mentor system.

I cant understand why Blizzard couldnt simply write some code though, to mask any custom titles that appear to have the words “gold”, or any iteration of a website in it…it would seem to me that would have been a less intrusive way to implement routing out the spammers.

A) two factor isn’t stupid
B) making a custom title is NOT an “important gameplay option”
C) The extra bag space was them encouraging people early on to adopt two factor, probably because they new at some future point they would have to resort to this and they were probably hoping to get as many people on board ahead of time.
Technology changes. Ride the wave or get left out at sea.
