Has anyone been able to successfully finished setting up the Battle.net Authenticator App? It’s stuck on “setting up” for hours.
I’ve seen several post about this issue, but i wasn’t sure if any of the steps to fix it actually works; I have tried everything, closed all running apps, cleared cache and data, uninstalled the app, restarted my phone and re-installed the app, but nothing works…
I’m a returning vanilla player, and i was able to use the Authenticator without any problem. I also had a crappy phone, I currently have the Samsung S9 plus with T-mobile.
I was having this same problem recently and followed all the directions on the support page and still couldn’t get it to work. Until I read here that in order to receive the backpack upgrade (which is why I downloaded the Authenticator in the first place) you need to also enable phone notifications. So I did that, then uninstalled/reinstalled the Authenticator app and, lo and behold, instead of getting stuck again, it sent a code to my phone which I typed into the app and, voilà! It gave me a serial number and restore code and I was good to go!
So try adding phone notifications and see if that fixes your problem.

This fixed the issue for me! Was very frustrating not being able to add those bag slots.

Nope, didn’t work for me. Uninstalled, cleared data, disabled notifications and re-enabled them, sacrificed a newborn child to RNGesus, nothing worked. Whatever, wasn’t using those 4 slots anyways.
Were you ever able to solve this issue? I still have this problem.
Uninstall the authenticator, add your phone number to your blizzard account, then re install it and it should work. That was my issue, the authenticator requires your phone number to work.
