Today I logged in and it asked me for my Authentication Code? I’ve played nearly every day for 20 years and all of a sudden I had to dig out my ancient Blizzard Authenticator fob just to log into the game. Is this a prank, or are you making me do this every time I log in now? WHY?!?
Happened to me too ! Also, I’ve been disconnected from the game several times today. Game lags, everyone stops, and I get the boot. There seems to be a few issues today.

You should be grateful your physical authenticator still works. Might want to remove it and set up the mobile one before it dies.

Its been many years since the game has made me use the authentication fob, so I wonder if I set up the app on my phone will I need to authenticate every time I log into wow?
No, you won’t. I haven’t had to use it in months unless I login from another location.

Only time I’ve been required to use Authenticator is after some patches. And usually it only happens after windows has done a feature update. As that sometimes messes with other applications in windows .
Interesting. Well, I use a Mac to play wow. So, maybe it was some kind of problem with the update & Mac OS? We may never know 
I was randomly asked for my authentication code as well just the other day. To be honest I had a similar eyeroll response, but since doing it the one time it hasn’t asked me again.
Could’ve been a one-time blip from something devs tinkered with on their end.
