Forgive them they don’t understand most things are imported goods, even if in this situation its an online game.
They could (and maybe should) just go back to charging US dollars for the US regional servers, and if players want to play on them, they can pay the conversion fees themselves.

Glad we have Americans from the most powerful and wealthy country on Earth telling the rest of us plebs how to live. ![]()
Still failing to accept the Aus Govt is corrupt and a failure that is destroying the people.
Meanwhile promoting the same truly ridiculous equity dribble that is killing us all. Sounds like you’re from Canberra.
Australia scores higher on the democracy index than the US so saying we are corrupt is kettle-pot black.
Every country has political problems so I don’t know where you’re going with this? We are talking about Blizzard subscription pricing in Australia for Australians; but it’s important to get input from Americans into the matter.
I doubt the Americans are pretending to be democratic anymore, but you’re pretending the Aus govt isn’t fully corrupt also. You are as ignorant as the blithering bogan outback.
Not failing to accept – we KNOW THEY ARE CORRUPT.
Is that supposed to be an insult? ![]()
This was between myself and the bogan for brains. You’re cool, I’m rustling his Jimmy’s.
Oh no, you’ve stooped to character naming insults. Debate over.
Ggwp.
Aussie lives matter
Never was a debate because you’re pretending the govt isn’t fully corrupt.
Op seems sensible, but not you.
Nobody thinks that. We all know its a rinse repeat cycle that has played out over the past 60 years. Labor invests money in the healthcare, education and public services industry and as a result they over spend and tank the dollar, then liberal comes along cuts all that and our dollar goes back up but at the cost of the things labor invested in. Rinse repeat
Meh, just cancel. Thats what I did.
We got bigger problems. Egg prices are up across the land.
(This was a meme during our recent election; egg prices were too high.)
This isn’t a political issue . Its a currency issue
Maybe, since I have a finance background, i am more capable of discussing this regardless of my citizenship than other people
Just a thought.
They screwed us in season of mastery (swamp of sorrows) and killed our server.
They screwed us in season of discovery (shadowstrike) and killed our server.
They are soon to screw us in anniverysary (maladath) and kill the server.
They don’t listen to the players they won’t invest in any kind of working solutions for our region we are the bottom priority to them even after some people being customers for 15-20 years.
You want them to listen ? stop paying your subscription and let them fail like other big game companies e.g ubisoft.
Makes sense with your awful takes you are from down under hahaha.
imagine blaming blizzard because your region has an extremely small playerbase that cant support an MMORPG / blaming blizzard for your awful government that cant control its currency?
Remember when AU forced blizzard to separate OCE from NA in PvP due to lag, then literally weeks later OCE couldn’t get into BGs or arena matches for hours because not enough players were on and immediately demanded they return it to how it was ![]()
Pepperidge farms remembers.
I remember when oceanic was always its own bg group and then one day blizzard stealth merged us with NA with no announcement at all and did not even ask the oceanic players.
It must be hard for a multi million dollar company to code in “wait x time in queue for oce after x time queue na” very complex.
Blizzard has always been the people that screwed our region and the arrogance of people like you is part of the reason your pretty much the most hated country in the world.
Seems unlikely, because you considering currency conversion in isolation of other factors (such as median salary, cost of living, domestic taxes, etc.) to determine whether it is “fair” to charge Australian users $24 p/m.
I suspect standardising subscription fees is not a currency issue but a fraud issue, since in 2025 it is easy to use a VPN to change your location and exploit cheaper local prices. The long-exploited Argentinian WoW subscription is also being significantly jacked up to align with USD.
Yep.
And blizzard is doing what many international companies do.
Adjust rates to baseline around the US dollar.
Even amazon does this. For US exported stuff…Japanese jeff bezos and US vendors on amazon Japan got smarter.
with the yen rate at 154 (154 yen to $1 US), if you work 2 currencires like I do I make out more, the company makes less.
So amazon or its vendors got real smart when the yen rate shot up to even 140, and stayed there or went higher.
They charge higher yen amounts to make sure they get full USD payment.
They want the $700 USD that Amaazon US is asking for a lens (my bigger buys this year). when japan smacked its economy hard that same $700 lens in a US store could be like $550 when I played exchange rate games.
the vendor fixed that by tacking on way more yen to cost in the amazon Japan store. the vendor wants their $700. they knew people like me where paying $525.
Yen price shot up, so when conversions done…they got $700, not $525.
These days? All I get for most buys off amazon japan is really fast shipping lol. Option B is the slow as hell base PO from US amazon lol.
