So i’m Aussie, currently playing on the ‘Frostmourne’ realm. I was looking at some RP servers and I feel like Wyrmest Accord seems to have a very friendly and active community. I have two questions.
What are your thoughts on the server, especially for someone who has never rp’d, which means that I will want normal raiding, pvp and other content without the rp side of things.
Also, for an Australian how will the time zones play out? Will I be playing alone all the time or is the server populated at a satisfactory during the night or early mornings?
Sorry for the possibly naïve questions but I’m just trying to see if this Rp thing is right for me, especially given the fact that I would have to move from an OCE server to a US one.
Edit: I forgot to mention I will be playing on Alliance.
If you’re looking for PvP/PvE and don’t plan to RP at all, there are other servers that would serve you better, since we have a lot of RP and not a lot of the other stuff. There definitely are pvp and PvE guilds here, but I feel like other servers would be a better option.
If you’re suggesting you want to try out RP in between your regular play stuff, then this is a great server I think.
Not a lot happening on your time zone, honestly. But I know of at least a few guilds and players that are also in Australia and get on pretty well in terms of time zone differences.
Oh no I definitely intend to RP but without sacrificing PVE and PVP, that being said i’m not a hardcore player anyway, so more casual PVP and PVE are what i’m interested in. My biggest concern is simply having a lively server with lots of interaction.
WRA is a great place for RP and there’s some smattering of PvE and PvP going on. If you are looking for normal mode raiding, M+ and casual PvP I am sure you can get a group for that. It was better on those fronts in the past. BFA wasn’t well liked and our server was hit by that the same as the others. I am hoping that Shadowlands is strong and addresses the issues we have with the current state of the game so WRA returns to a more normal state
As Symeont said, I lead an oceanic RP guild, Lordaeron Unbound. We ARE Forsaken based, but we get some pretty active late hours RP - our events have been averaging 8-12 people, which has been neat!
As for RP, there is definitely a lot! There are a few late night guilds you could hook up with like the Grey Militia who are usually RPing up until 3 AM for people who live on the east coast.
I will say!!! As forewarning, active raiding and active RP can be a toughie!! So you’ll likely miss out on one or the other sometimes.
Most big RP events happen on the weekends starting on Friday. So I’d be sure to check on here, event listings in discords and tumblr for events you might want to go to ahead of time. But it’s not impossible, I know plenty of people who raid and still make time for RP events.
Being new to RP can be scary, and you might feel nervous and think you’re doing awful. Don’t worry…just do the best you can.
And if you want some add-ons right away for it I suggest TRP3 and Listener to start off with.
