August Trading Post

Unlike other months, there’s just too much good stuff in there. Not a fan of a limited currency for stuff like this, and no way to possibly come close to collecting even half of it in any reasonable time.

You dont need to buy everything every month, that’s the bright side of it

What’s your point, Einstein?

I don’t want everything, but there’s a solid handful of items I’d like to use. I am 100% skipping all mounts though, at this point there’s too many in the game and they are a huge tender waster.

Also, Blizz puts shop items in the post because they want you to know the tender is limited and you can just buy those things w/ IRL money to save. Don’t fall for the bait people!

It’s meant for you to only plan out how to get the items you want most each month and freeze an item you wanted but couldn’t get for next month

We’ll, blizzard is indirectly teaching you about Opportunity Cost: " noun

ECONOMICS

  1. the loss of potential gain from other alternatives when one alternative is chosen.

“idle cash balances represent an opportunity cost in terms of lost interest”"

The item I’ve had frozen since February randomly disappeared on me at some point in July (was still there when I unlocked the Netherdrake, but was gone today when I went to double check that I had everything I wanted before the switchover), so don’t count on that to save you if you can’t afford something.

save an item and buy the others you really want.

Whatever is there is gonna be back at some time.

If I get it now or in 3 years… It’s all good.

? I have like 3k, I just think it’s a bad system to be so hyper limited, and I think it’s predatory how they place shop items in there as big tender spenders along w/ a bunch of other stuff to clearly get it in your head to want to buy from the store w/ money. Really not a hard concept to follow.

For me the rewards are not so spectacular. Just some bad transmogs, a mount, a pet and a toy. Nothing diff from other months.

The gigabrain move is to play a class that has very little use for most of the expensive crap they throw up, and not care about mounts.
That way when you rock up to the post with your hard-ground tendies you’ve already cut the legs out from under your total monthly cost.

don’t worry, you’ll get more coins bundled with next promo

This! To the OP, you said unlike other months this month has many good things. That should mean you have plenty of tender saved up from those crappy months.

Of course a lot of people spend it all every month even if they just kind of sort of want something.

On the other hand, the only things I am interested in this month are the cloaks.

I will never use the new Jodi mount and have the two alabaster ones. Have the pet. Toys have stupidly long and annoying cooldowns. Got the flail the first time it was on the trading post…

I only buy the mounts, pets, toys. I don’t buy transmogs. I don’t have enough for all the mounts, pets, and toys this month. Usually there is only 1 mount, 1 pet, and maybe a toy. So, not sure how you are supposed to get even the 4 items this month.

what a coincidence its the month they’re selling tenders for money… wow, lucky

Blizzard can put out a vendor purely for cosmetic and fun purposes, give us free currency every month + fun way to acquire more, an option to freeze items, and players still find something to complain about
