To my knowledge the dps data “hooks” that such addons as Details, skada, or recount use to show a players damage are hidden for augmentation unless you log the fight and check back later. If what I believe is correct, can you please undo this. It’s not possible to tell how much I as a player am really contributing in fights and to check logs post raid is not helping me correct myself. Idk what went on during an encounter minutes later let alone hours later. Not to mention it’s just a hoop to jump through to check logs over a dps meter. Finally, the statement, “I can’t tell if you’re really helping”, has been stated quite often only after a day for such reasons.
The incalculable is not really viable in wow. Please may this be altered.
Edit: yeah, using a 3rd party site to check my dps is not fun.

You can run warcraftlogs uploader and check fights after they happen, the same you would do with details.
They likely won’t have details working anytime soon (if ever), so it’s a gameplay loop we’ll have to get used to, but it’s not too bad. It’s also more helpful for aug as you can check fights by phase and see if you should be changing your buff priorities as fights develop.
Unfortunately thats unacceptablenin pug settings, and in game where a large majority pug and monitor off mods like Details, its going to be extemely difficult to get groups. I did a mid key yesterday and that was the first thing pointed out was my poor dps.

Link your log report before the run and explain that your dmg won’t show in details if they really want to see you crushing their dps.
It’s going to go both ways-- I pugged a 19 yesterday and the dps were having the time of their internet lives looking at their numbers.
I plan on generally pugging as devastation if I’m not in a high(er) key though, since that’s just going to be something that happens.
It’s an entirely new spec and they aren’t going to delay a release just because an addon can’t accurately track a classes dps currently.
That’s an issue of being unable tell a bad augmentation from a good one till post run logs. Needing to start with “please read my dm with my log records” is more hassle than a group is willing to deal with. It’s just a poor design to hide your damage. “I’m good, trust”
My shade at blizz not you.

It’s not their design, it’s third party programs though. Obviously it’s not ideal, but even if Blizzard got all of the information to the authors of details to digest and add, they could just be like ‘nah this is too much work, we’re good’.
I would much rather have the spec be available and have these things worked out eventually, even if it’s not ideal.

It was their design. They stated such many times with the “new damage hooks for logs” statements. It was intended to not show on dps addons. Its what made the PTR testing a drag too.

Most players know on average what DPS they are capable of.
All they need to do is look at their own damage to see if the avoker is pulling their weight.
I joined a group that just lost their 3rd dps on the last boss of the mega dungeon and my details DPS was barely above the tank.
They all said they noticed the dps increase from my buffs and things died noticeably faster.

But why hide it, there is 100% no reason.
Because in their own words it wouldn’t feel like a support spec it’d just feel like regular DPS.
Their target player for Augmentation is one that doesn’t care if they are high or low on the meters and enjoys buffing their party and helping their numbers go way up.

Great job introducing a support class as an experiment, and then make it impossible for us to judge how it performs.
I just finish my mega dungeon run, and I have no clue how well I did. I don’t do warcraftlogs, I use details.
If I can’t see how well I’m doing on a very specific pull for which I was holding my CDs for, then how am I going to judge whether or not I did the right thing? Even if I were look at my logs, that moment is lost. I won’t remember when or how or why or what.

There’s Devo spec if you want to fight to be on the top of the meters.
I hope they never put buff damage onto support meters, at most they could just add it inside the breakdown.
Shaman did 130k dps (30k from buffs)
Hunter did 110k (25k from buffs)
Warrior did 33k (10k from buffs)
Avoker did 30k
Healer did 27k (9k from buffs)
Kinda best of both words then, support players who want to buff their team get to enjoy that playstyle and damage chasers can (with a little math) see their total damage.

As has been said, players who care about meters know their average DPS. With an augmentation in the group, their average DPS will be higher. That increase they see is the augmentation’s contribution, even though it’s not explicit or easy to see.

They won’t let details/skada/recount use those hooks. They’ve said they won’t. They want the augvoker to help the others in your group have big numbers and not the augvoker. That is the entire premise of the spec, hope others can do your damage for you. They made the log hooks so that other specs aren’t inflated to ridiculous numbers on logs and so that they can properly balance everything, so the spec shows it’s actually doing damage.
You either need to start logging, just hope you’re doing it right, or play devastation.
Easy way to see how good the Augvoker is in the party.
Open up details.
Look at auras
Look at Ebon Might uptime.
70-90% uptime? Good
Sub 60% uptime? Bad.
Boom, easy peasy
Edited, i was wrong about numbers

Current number 1 evoker has 76% uptime on Sark.
Trash evoker.
From what I’ve read so far sub 60% is bad, 70%+ is fine.
I’m sure that % will creep up over the next few weeks though, as everyone gets better. So maybe you’re numbers will be the right ones.

Thanks for the clarification. I must have been thinking pre-nerf.
Edited previous post to reflext new numbers

It’s also dependent on mastery. The less mastery you have, the less uptime you’ll have. So uptime percentage will vary.
My heart dropped when I saw my mastery%
I was like 100%+ in pres/Dev and then I switched to aug and I’m like 14%. Lol
I get that 100% mastery on aug would be insane, but my big number is now small.
I mean my friend gearing his mage we do low keys. He overall would be about 30-40k
With augment he was about 68k
I don’t mind the low DPS the inability to see how much I’m contributing is rough but I really love the way it plays.
I can use healbot to cast on specific targets to buff or hit them and it target those closest of the spec.
It feels like a support and I find it liberating not to track and worry about my own DPS and being competitive I’m overly so tends to make the game unfun.
This is the first time in years I’m really just having fun and not watching my numbers.
