I either advocate for Augmentation to be a tank spec or a straight up dps spec.
Augmentation buffing is cool but I would much rather have seen a tank spec. Why does plate and leather get ALL the tank specs…? Why can’t we have a “do it all” mail class like Pally and Druid? Can you imagine a Black and Red, Green or Yellow tank? Black abilities would be beefy abilities that also debuff/slow/mitigate against enemies. Red could also add straight up dmg with some healing, green could just be straight up heals to keep the Evoker in the fight and Yellow could rewind dmg/give shields. An Evoker themed tank spec is a sorely missed opportunity. It suits the class and race.
If not a tank though, then at least a straight up dps. Main reason is a selfish one. Who doesn’t like to do big dunga?! The other reason is that since Augmentation buffs other people and itself does poor dmg comparatively speaking, then it’s hard to tell “how well” the Aug. Evoker is doing. In pugs on the low-mid end, you’ll just get kicked. High end players actually see the value so long as the group is going well.
