Augmentation- (M+) how to know if you’re doing well?

I switched from mage to aug for the rest of this tier. I am really enjoying it but have no idea if I’m doing well? Details damage meter shows two different colored meters for me. One is dark green the other is lighter. I’m not sure if this is the buffed damage I’ve given to other players or if it’s something else?

I feel like I’ve got it down pretty well- prescience always on two targets preferably the dps, Ebon might uptime as much as possible, breath of eons during dps cds, then fire breath, try not to cap essence during EM upheaval, then spam eruption for uptime in EM. Blossom and verdant embrace when essence out to buff living flame. I save EB for the next pack if mobs are about to die.

What am I missing if anything? I’m usually close to the tank in damage when the dark and lighter green dps bars of mine are added together

Not sure what keys you’re running, but if they’re low and the DPS are not geared then this is probably alright.

The Details approximated DPS (that’s the second, more translucent bar) for Aug is trash at best. If you really want to analyze performance, I suggest that you start logging your keys.

It sounds like you’re playing the spec just fine for keys, which isn’t too complicated as compared to raid.

You may already be doing this but since you didn’t mention it, be sure you’re keeping blistering scales up on the tank and source of magic on the healer.

Aside from the general gameplay loop, also make sure you’re proactively using zephyr for big incoming AOE (ie first volley on final boss of BRH) and obsidian scales for the HP buff on the group as well as the DR for yourself.

Also be sure to renewing blaze before big incoming damage or heavy rot, and if you can avoid it, try not to overlap it with obsidian scales (unless it’s definitely needed), as this will take a lot of the value out of the heal.

Using rescue for the shield on a squishy DPS or the healer before big damage is also a good habit to get into, and using upheaval for interrupts as well as buffet/tailswipe is also good tech to get used to.

Time spiral at the right moments can be huge, too. Any situation where movement is helpful (pushback on Dresaron in DHT, etc)

Overall just keep EM as much as possible, prescience your DPS (and the tank once you have tier–avoid buffing the healer unless it’s the right moment to give it to them).

Seems like you’re off to the right start, though. I’d just recommend getting the warcraftlogs companion app, the raiderio app, and set them up to auto log everything you do if you really want to analyze.
