Why? Spec was already behind by 7% and 12% in aoe before the most recent nerfs. The additional nerfs are just absolutely a gutting, why even let people play the spec at that point? Just rework or delete it lol.
Aug is in a terrible place. Even when itās doing terrible DPS, itās mandatory for high level M+ because of its buffs/utility. Itās looking like they want to make sure itās not going to be mandatory, and to accomplish that, they need to make it absolutely horrible. I donāt believe they will ever find a balance for Aug - it will either be a spec that every group wants, or that no group wants, and for 11.1 itās looking like Blizz id going for the second choice.
Because it is impossible to balance a support spec in a game with no support role. So instead, you have to place a support style spec in the DPS role where itās competing with actual DPS specs. Thus, the spec has to either be grossly overpowered to be considered a spot in a group, or grossly underpowered in order to not be considered mandatory. There is no in-between.
My suggestion? Make Augmentation into a caster tank spec based on Deathwing HotS using Azure Strike as the main damage filler, keeping Blistering Scales for damage mitigation, and bringing in some HotS abilities like Incinerate and Cataclysm. Ebon Might can stay, but itād have to be redesigned.
I would also give the tanking Dracthyr their own unique form. Making them look more bulky and powerful.
I really donāt believe it should be kept as a DPS spec because itāll run too close into Devastation.
Speculation but because theyāve been so high for so long this is essentially a āweād rather you didnāt play Augā based on the hit theyāre getting.
Aug was a mistake. As long as it exists it will be mandatory in high keys.
Reform Aug into a tank spec and pretend the support role never happened
They finally throwing their hands in the air and calling the great support role experiment done?
Oh no. Anyway.
Donāt listen to OP. Those of us that actually enjoy playing it are okay with it not being the best class in the game by a mile.
Too bad they were only told this 900 times when they were introduced. Maybe if theyād been told 1000 times they would have listened.
Unfortunately aug has to be nerfed to the ground to give dev and pres some time in the spotlight. Itās funny that in one of the interviews this week Ion basically said aug was designed for bad players. Itās a rough time to play aug.
Delete aug.
My bet is that they have an internal plan on what to do with Augmentation. Iām excited personally.
Augmentation was simply too strong and itās too late into the expansion cycle to introduce a sweeping revamp or another addition of a support spec to another class to the game.
Devastation will actually see a good bit of play in 11.1 due to the buffs given to the spec as a whole and to the massive buffs to Flameshaper.
Enjoy the ride, I have a feeling that the future Augmentation revamp will be welcome to many!
Yess let them augment themselves into one of those big valdrakken guards and tank with casts.
Unfortunately Dev isnāt anything to praise atm. Itāll do alright in Season 2, but thatās about it unless more tuning comes.
Iād actually prefer something like this;
Except with red and orange instead of blue and purple.
No one wants to see it in the M+ meta again. It needed taken out back behind the barn.
I do think they should try and buff it back for raid and only for raid though while they figure out over the next couple of seasons how to bring it back into M+ without making it required and basically tuning the entire game around it.
Iād lean towards Devoker being upper mid tier which is great.
Flameshaper will see loads up play at a competitive level which will be fun to witness and Scalecommander is smoother overall with multiple aura buffs layered on top for both.
Devoker sits A- right now (lower A)
Good, nerf them even more.
They need to take the augmentation abilities and bake them into all of the healer specs. Take the āsupport roleā out to the gallows and hang it.
Priest already has this to some degree with their externals and PI.
