Augmentation envoker changes please

Good day everyone,

Not sure if people feel the same way as I do but I recently leveled a Aug envoker and really really enjoyed it, but there own damage they can provided is kinda lacking, while I understand they are in a state of possible rebuild or being ignored by blizzard at the moment could we get some changes possibly? Like changing the % values of there mastery to be little easier to get some good durations and maybe add damage into there mastery so they can support and deal damage without basically relying on other players to do the damage for them?

I love support classes and I see why they won’t be top dps but being able to be middle of the pack and with others doing well to bump there damage to like A tier would be great or go the other direction and give them the ability to grant shields similar to disc priests but damage oriented. More support or more damage would be great! I generally enjoy the play style of Aug envoker

They have given up on making support work. They just threw one out there and let it die. Should have expanded to a lot more classes early. Now its just dead, I thought they would rework it into something else for this patch but looks like the are going to ignore it until Midnight releases

I hope they just rework it into a regular dps spec. Blizz can’t balance it as-is.

Yeah, exactly. It was an incredibly stupid idea to just introduce an entirely new role to the game, but have that role restricted to only one class. Part of me believes they did it on purpose just to bait people into actually playing a dracthyr, since hardly anyone played one until after they introduced the beyond broken aug spec.

It’ll be sad if Blizzard just gives up on it. How can FFXIV create support DPS classes and Blizzard somehow can’t despite collectively having more experience than Square-Enix’s developers?

You can’t do much aside from introduce 4th specs for the existing classes, with some filling the same role as Aug Evoker. I think warrior, rogue, and maybe paladin can work there.

It’s 100% being redesigned next expac, they’ve been buffing its personal damage and done 0 changes to it.
It’s gonna turn into a generic dps like everyone else

Damn shame, that warcraft logs addicts are gonna kill a fun spec

I’m on the band wagon of “I hope they make it a tank”. We don’t have a mail armour tank yet.

But no matter what they do need to do something with it, because it’s just in a sad state.

Just swap to Dev, that thing does insane damage. I dunno if people are sleeping on it or just think it’s ugly or whatever, what ever the hang up, it’s a really stupid one.

Also Blizzard needs to stop nerfing and buffing based on popularity. We see now that you can make Dev #1 in the raid and people still won’t play it in raid or M+.

I’ll take a shaman tank spec before bastardizing Aug into one.

Shaman tank sounds boring, ngl.

“Here’s your tank that uses a sword and board bro, totally new and fresh.”

Take an enhance, give them a shield, reduce their damage by 70%, but I’m sure it will be fun refreshing earth shield on yourself and using Windfury for the 26th year in a row and I’m sure people will LOVE another consecrate/d&d tether, aka, throwing totems down and having to mess around with them… yikes.

Lets get some new stuff going.

I’d be cool with that. The only thing I’m against is trying to make support specs in WoW.

Shaman can’t use swords, for one.

Also, who said anything about changing enhance? I’d expect a 4th spec to be added to shaman to justify a tank spec. I don’t even think it would involve earth shield spam or windfury.

And if you want evoker to get a 4th spec, I say go for it. Let’s just not uproot something that can work with the correct amount of effort (again, how can SE create support DPS and Blizzard somehow can’t?).

Yeah it was a neat experiment and I think they tried it because of FFXIV, but FFXIV had them from the beginning and more importantly had more than one. Felt less pigeon holed in to playing one single spec of one single class.

Good attempt, time to try something else.

I don’t play FF14, but I imagine the most integral difference here is that FF14 has much more than one class with access to a support role. :person_shrugging:

Were you born yesterday? How do you not know what sword and board is?

Am I being trolled? People can really be this clueless? Wow.

We dont have cloth tanks either, are you also going to start asking for mage tanks? Evokers arent tanks, they werent supposed to be by design.

Dont force roles that dont belong onto classes, especially when there are people who enjoy the current playstyle. They can easily just make it a buff management dps spec where your focus is on managing your own buffs rather than buffing others.

Or something idk, just dont shoehorn a tank spec in. That makes way more sense for shaman as a 4th spec anyway.

Ew. What sane person would want to play such an abomination of a design.

Me. Its what i enjoy about aug currently. It was just an off hand thought if how to keep the current playstyle but make it self focused instead of group.

I just dont want to see the class and playstyle butchered and shoehorned into a tank spec.

I doubt it’ll happen. Blizzard are stubborn, they’ll find a way to make aug work.

Thats what id prefer. Add new support specs (warrior banner lord (shouts and banners to buff) and a warlock witchdoctor (curses and debuffs) for example) and make the role more varied.

I like the support role when it’s in games, i tend to gravitate towards those. Loved it in DCUO in particular.
