I’m seeing “Aug is F tier they killed it on purpose!” All over and yeah it’s definitely underpowered but it’s not THAT bad. At least that’s how it feels right now. I’ve only really done a bit of heroic raiding and middle tier keys so it’s not like Im an expert or anything but if I fully utilize my kit it seems my contribution is pretty comparable to other people at my item level.
I’ve ran mine for a giggle to do some Timewalking dungeons this week. It’s actually pretty okay DPS. It’s certainly not the best out there, but if you enjoy the playstyle, it’s unbelievably not the worst right now either!

Additionally - if they catch another 18% buff or two? Land right around upper middle of the pack. They’re currently like, upper-low/lowest-mid if that makes sense. For context, Dev’s like lowest-top/highest-mid. It’s a pretty big gulf between the two’s output, but certainly if you enjoy it, Aug’s not unplayable. I do and enjoy it! I just fully admit my Dev cranks way harder.

It definitely isn’t F tier anymore, currently Aug has +19s done in M+ and doing more dps then other classes/specs, it’s surpassed a lot of other classes in Score, Highest key done and overall dps. Even in Raid it’s doing more dps then certain class dps hero specs.
Personally give it more time for more players to make the switch and re-gear for content and I think Aug is going to place much higher in keys and in raid.
Clearly Aug slightly transitioning to more dps focus rather then support has helped the spec immensely, but is this what players want?, it’s insanely more viable now though with the recent buffs and definitely not dead anymore.
A lot of these “tier lists” were made when S2 first began, which during that time it was 100% an F tier spec as they had gutted its damage and utility super hard going into this season. It required multiple large personal damage buffs and them FINALLY fixing a bug/spell id for mass eruption to not count as the Dragonflight S3/S4 tier set bonus so that it could actually receive damage buffs from our talents or damage amp phases. They only fixed this because we as Augs were forced to use an exploit that required us to drop our main DPS cooldown so that we could actually do enough damage to even complete keys.
After all the buffs, Aug is now playable again, but it was a rough journey this season. I am not sure if we will be getting any other buffs, but I hope that going into season 3 that we get a massive rework because so much of our kit is incredibly useless now. That is for a whole other discussion though.

It is an awful spec to play and definitely F tier in pvp
In terms of raid, they are still lower end but also have one huge caveat: If you want to deal real damage, you are forced to really minmax with log analysis and weakauras, targeting people during their cooldowns and whatnot. There’s an enormous gulf between those who do and those who don’t
