Personally, I’m just not fond of using skills to increase the duration of our buffs. So like if our buffs time out and we have a gap of 5-15+ sec till we can get Ebon Might out again it feels like i should just sit on essence/resources untill it comes off CD just to spam eruption and stuff to try and get the most time out of it. It feels counterintuitive to sit on essence because if i use it when buffs are not up i won’t have it later to extend the buffs.
I would rrather see something where Ebon Might just has a straightforward long duration that you as the player just need to reapply every 30 sec for 30 sec OR scrap it and have eruption casts just give a random player Ebom Might for XX sec each cast. Same with our mastery buff with empowered spells.
Just have each time we cast eruption buff a party member with Ebon Might and out Mastery buff. Cut out the middle man of pressing buffing buttons ( at least those 2 which are more general buffs that anyone can benefit from).
Learn to read… I said it’s a chore and unfun, not that I couldn’t play it. I know English is not my native language, but it’s not that bad that I imply something I haven’t even gotten close to writing.
I feel like they had the idea to make it all about EM, then gave us a bunch of interesting talents, yet forgot in the process that you’re pretty hard-locked to a very specific build because of how the uptime vs cooldown of EM works.
I’ve always played support in games that allowed me to, but none of the games ever had a build where you were forced to work around keeping a buff up and increase that duration. Personally not a fan of that playstyle, yet it’s currently the only way of doing so.
This is also the only game I’ve ever played where the ranged part is basically too short to effectively support your team. Whether support was ranged or melee, your buffs always had the same range as all the other ranged players had.
Reading all the others posts I still feel the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Cool idea, way to much clucnkieness masked as “hyper micro managing” imo. It fine, it’s a new concept for a class and will be iterated on. Just not my cup of tea, not everything will be. High risk, low reward, especially after nerf bat beatings.
i mean, no… i run 0 weak auras involving aug outside of Prescience duration and i can tell you that i never have trouble keeping anything up.
The only reason the spec would feel “clunky” as the OP suggest is the fact they dont have an insane mastery stacked character. Like all specs, when it has the correct stats it is king of its realm
nerf bat wasnt evne to do with the spec. Close as clutchmates was dramatically over tuned and Eruption damage was raised to counter it, i went from 26k per cast to 30k per cast, which might not sound like alot. But for your main spammable on a class that isnt suppose to deal dramatic damage it is extremely large.
How much mastery and haste are you running? are you still just spamming living flame when you could be spamming eruption?
the weak aura i have lets you track what prescience timer is remaining. outside of that. i do use Elvui, which does notify buff up times. But its not really a tracker as it only shows a box not a duration remaining.
I also dont consider Elvui to be an Addon like others, i use it for all specs
You should have nearly 75% uptime of your Ebon Might and nearly 100% uptime on Prescience on two DPS. You can macro this in raid OR you could just press Prescience on CD it prefers to go on DPS anyways.
Most casters have to ‘hard-cast’ most of their spells. That’s kinda the way ranged DPS works.
My criticisms of aug are just from a gameplay flow point of view. It doesn’t flow like devastation, and is half as mobile
Ebon might not being instant feels kind of bad.
Eruption with essence burst not just being instant cast feels bad
Not having burnout or something like it in pve feels bad
Not being able to automatically target two desired people with prescience in raid feels bad.
Prescience not having a 100% chance to proc essence burst feels bad.
Upheaval and Fire breath not having the same CD feels weird and makes the gameplay feel more turrety so you can get the CDR. The CDR talent should be removed and the cooldowns should be the same, imo.
if that is how you clarify it, then sure it is. But honestly i use it on everything and i cant play with base Default UI any more, have not been able to since MoP, its ugggllyyyyy
Base UI is fine for most things, it’s just that for keeping track of buffs/debuffs their UI has 0 consideration of how we’re supposed to see what’s going on. They are still in the 2004 mindset.
