Aug Evoker Rework Concept Idea

Hi there!

I’ll just start by saying I’m not a high-end WoW player. I love Aug and play it well enough to be 3k IO for M+, but that’s it. I know the spec very well, and I have a good idea about Pres and Dev as well. I have no idea what they would do about Aug if they decided they didn’t want it in its current state in the new xpac. Perhaps they’ll rework it, or perhaps remove it like the old Gladiator Warrior.

This is just a for-fun concept about trying to turn Aug into a healer-subclass. It has a lot of supportive components and damage components that could turn it into either a DPS or a Healer, so I’m gonna try my hand at a healer’s concept for it. Feel free to tell me wha’cha think and your thoughts about it if you’re interested. Also I had to write it out here cause no links allowed in forums…

Thanks!

Evoker - Augmentation Healing Concept

Unique Resource: Onyx Energy and Crimson Energy
You have two unique resources that exist side by side. These two are Onyx Energy and Crimson Energy, with both starting at 0 and stacking up to 100. You have abilities that will build up either one or the other, sometimes both. Upon reaching 100 in both Onyx and Crimson Energy, you can cast Ebon Might.

Being out of combat for 8 seconds will drain the stored energy of both by 5 each per second.

Mastery: Ebonfire
You deal up to X% (based on Mastery) bonus damage based on how high your Onyx Energy is.
You deal up to X% (based on Mastery) bonus healing based on how high your Crimson Energy is.

While Ebon Might is active, these effects are increased to their maximum values and increased by 20% for the duration of the buff.

Augmentation Evoker - Base Spells

Living Flame (Red Spell)
No cooldown.

A small flame sent flying towards a target:

Ally Cast: Heals the ally for a small amount.
Enemy Cast: Damages the enemy for a small amount of Fire damage. Refunds 80% of the mana cost when cast at an enemy.

When used, it will bounce to the lowest-health ally within 25ft, healing the target for a small amount.

Builds 5 Crimson Energy on use.

Stone Geyser (Black Spell)
No cooldown.

Replaces Azure Strike. A small cloud of stones that spews from your hand towards a target:

Ally Cast: Shields the ally for a small amount.
Enemy Cast: Damages the enemy for a small amount of Volcanic damage. Refunds 80% of the mana cost when cast at an enemy.

When used, it will bounce to the lowest-health ally within 25ft, shielding the target for a small amount.

Builds 5 Onyx Energy on use.

Pyre (Red Spell)
No cooldown.
2 essence cost.
Short cast time.

An Essence Spell that lobs a globe of lava at an enemy, dealing moderate Fire damage to the target enemy and all nearby enemies (Uncapped).

Builds 10 Crimson Energy on use.

Eruption (Black Spell)
No cooldown.
2 essence cost.
Short cast time.

Replaces Disintegration. An Essence Spell that causes a small gout of earth to burst from the earth, dealing moderate Volcanic damage to the target enemy and all nearby enemies (Uncapped).

Builds 10 Onyx Energy on use.

Flame Breath (Red Spell)
Short cooldown.
Empower Spell.

An Empower Spell that spews flame in a cone attack, dealing Fire damage over time to all targets hit. The longer it is channeled, the shorter the damage-over-time duration becomes and the more initial damage is dealt.

Builds 20 Crimson Energy on use.

Upheaval (Black Spell)
Short cooldown.
Empower Spell.

An Empower Spell that causes earth to spew from the earth under a target, dealing Volcanic damage to the target and all nearby enemies. Damage is stronger in the center and is reduced towards the edge. The longer it is channeled, the larger the radius of the damage becomes.

Builds 20 Onyx Energy on use.

Augmentation Evoker - Cooldowns

Ebon Might (Black Spell)
No cooldown.
Short cast time.
Requires 100 Onyx and Crimson Energy to cast.

Grants yourself and the nearest 4 low-health allies the Ebon Might buff for 8 seconds. The duration is increased by 2 seconds when an Empower Spell is cast, and by 1 second when an Essence Spell is cast.

While the buff persists, it causes all targets with Ebon Might to deal bonus minor Volcanic damage with their attack and abilities, and to heal for 50% of that bonus damage dealt. Whenever you damage a target with an attack or ability, all targets with Ebon Might are healed for 50% of the damage dealt.

You can build Onyx and Crimson Energy while Ebon Might is active.

Blistering Scales (Black Spell)
30 second cooldown.
Instant Cast.

Shields the target for a medium amount for 8 seconds. When the shield is applied and when it breaks, it deals moderate Volcanic damage to all nearby enemies (damage reduced beyond 8 targets).

Tank subclasses who gain this ability are granted Temporal Redirection for the duration, increasing the threat they generate by 30% and redirecting the threat generated by this ability to them.

Non-tank subclasses who gain this ability are granted Timelessness for the duration, decreasing the threat they generate by 30%.

Grants 10 Crimson and Onyx Energy on use.
Grants 10 Crimson and Onyx Energy if the shield breaks.

Seismic Wave (Black Spell)
1 minute cooldown.
Instant Cast.

Create a band of earth around an ally or enemy target that persists for 10 seconds. Allies with the band gain 10% bonus armor, while enemies with the band take 5% bonus damage from all sources.

When the banded target takes direct damage, the band creates a seismic ripple outwards up to 40 yards. Enemies hit by the ripple take minor Volcanic damage while allies hit gain a small stacking shield, stacking up to a maximum of 30% of their maximum health. Shielding persists up to 10 seconds, refreshing on each ripple.

The band can release a seismic ripple once every 0.5 seconds.
Grants 2 Crimson and Onyx Energy for each seismic ripple released.

Roar of Neltharius (Red Spell)
1.5 minute cooldown.
Instant cast.

Release a roar infused with red and black magic up to 40 yards, dealing moderate Volcanic damage to all enemies (Reduced beyond 5 targets) and healing allies for a moderate amount (reduced beyond 5 targets).

When cast, instantly gain 50 Onyx and Crimson Energy.

Breath of Eons (Bronze Spell)
2 minute cooldown.
Short cast time.

Replaces Deep Breath. Create a temporal copy of yourself that flies in a line 15-50 yards, dealing moderate damage to enemies hit and marking them with Chrono Ward for 8 seconds.

While Chrono Ward is active on enemies, it stores 25% of all damage you do to enemies with Chrono Ward, up to a maximum of 60% of your maximum health.

After 8 seconds or when you reactivate the ability, the Chrono Ward will burst. When it bursts, yourself and the nearest 4 allies (prioritizing targets with Ebon Might) within 40 yards of you are healed for 25% of the damage stored and gain a shield equal to 75% of the damage stored for 10 seconds. Overhealing is converted into bonus shielding.

If an ally with Ebon Might drops below 15% health, or would take damage that would kill them, the Chrono Ward will burst early.

Granite Bastion (Black Spell)
2 minute cooldown.
Short cast time.

Grants yourself and all nearby allies within 40 yards a moderate shield for 10 seconds. Applying this cleanses all disease, poison and bleed effects from allies.

Shielding amount is increased by 100% while not in a raid.

Pick One: Tip the Scales or Unbound Time

Tip The Scales: Compress time to make your next Empower Spell instant cast and cast at its maximum level.

2 minute cooldown.
Instant Cast.
Off the GCD.

Unbound Time: Mark your next Empower Spell to cause a temporal copy of yourself to summon and cast the spell instead of you. It will channel the Empower Spell to its maximum value, at the target or direction you choose when casting the spell.

You can recast your Empower Spell to cause the temporal copy to release the Empowered Spell early at its current empowered level (Recasting is off GCD and does not interrupt current spell casts).

2 minute cooldown.
Instant Cast.
Off the GCD.

Spatial Paradox
1.5 minute cooldown.
Instant cast.
Off the GCD.

Choose yourself or another ally within 25 yards and grant them Spatial Paradox for 15 seconds.

Spatial Paradox allows the target to cast while moving and increases their attack and cast range by 15 yards.

If the ally is melee, the range increase is reduced to 3 yards.

Pick One: Temporal Envelopment or Temporal Shift

Temporal Envelopment: Casting Spatial Paradox on an ally grants you the benefits for the same duration. Casting it on yourself grants it on a random nearby ally, prioritizing ranged subclasses over melee.

Dark Blooded
While Ebon Might is active on an ally with Prescience, you increase the healing and shielding replicated on the target from 15% to 30%.

in fact aug is in a relatively good place right now, honestly turning him into a healing spec would be something dark, even because today he is a damage spec.

Ah it’s just a concept about “What if”. Im not proposing changes to Aug at all, this is just a for-fun idea.
