Aug bottom DPS

I know people kinda hate Aug because of M+ but from all the wowhead rankings it’s been bottom dps for practically every level, even in the 95th percentile.

Having it be a dps loss in M+ is fine because of the utility and survivability it brings for the group, but I think the nerfs hit it too hard in raid environments.

It’d be nice to see some kind of buff to tweak its raid performance separate from M+, maybe like a reverse version of close as clutchmates?

Augie is still considered top choice DPS role for raid but damage its not truely what they bing in a raid.

“Augmentation Evoker will continue to be a great choice in the first raid tier of The War Within, thanks to its ability to enhance the damage and defensive capabilities of your raid members. While the players behind the Prescience Icon Prescience and Ebon Might Icon Ebon Might buffs are responsible for most of their damage, having at least one Augmentation Evoker in your raid composition can be very advantageous. To conclude, this specialization has a great defensive profile, a “cheat-death”, and is one of the most mobile specializations available.”

I know, and I definitely try to make the most of my utilities in raid. I just think that the nerfs to Ebon Might went just a bit too far.

Huh? Where are you getting this information?

Aug is literally the top dps spec in m+ currently based on logs.

It doesn’t need more dps in raid, as it brings a ton of safety and utility and you can easily flex dev if your comp needs more throughput.

I was third place on Ky’Veza heroic last night in a raid full of 90-99 parsers and did over 1 million dps in a single target encounter.

You’re running chronowarden, which is a massive part of your problem. Stay current with the top dps build and run SC.

I’m not struggling with DPS that much personally I’m just noticing that it’s at the bottom of the rankings.

It’s not, though. In heroic and mythic since reset it’s still toward the bottom but relatively competitive with everyone else, and we bring far more survivability and utility than a lot of classes as well as the ability to do mechanics with little penalty.

You’re looking at a range of 2 weeks when changes have made SC the best hero tree very recently. If you change any of those views to the last 24 hours it tells a different story.

Logs also don’t tell the entire story with aug due to the fact that augs running with another aug and stacking buffs are far less populous but have a significant advantage over those running solo or those just running with augs that don’t know how to coordinate buffs together.

Good point I didn’t know about the recent changes for scale commander coming out ahead.

Yeah the tl;dr on it is that unless you are running with 99 parsers in mythic and timing breath perfectly with cd’s, SC comes out decently ahead.

You send breath on cd no matter what and have a lot more personal damage but less from buffs, and there is some slight rotational nuance but overall it felt amazing last night. You have to get a TON more haste than the crit/mastery CW build though.

Saeldur’s Icyveins guide is updated, not sure if Jereico has had a chance to update wowhead yet though.

That’s real unfortunate about the haste but at least it’ll make swapping between augmentation and devastation easier

yep, this is the best part. I went from 3% haste to 15% and not only does it feel SO much better but I can just flex to dev whenever we need.

Thanks a lot for the info! I’m going to use this for next raid

Aug isnt bottom because of their personal tuning, but rather the classes that are turned around them. Aug is only as good as the specs they’re buffing.
