Suddenly I am now getting a weird buzzing noise out of my speakers only when i play wow. Started yesterday. Ive check all my drivers and everything is up to date.
Has anyone else had this low mid buzzing audio noise lately?
if its more than wow…i would say you’ve clearly damaged your audio jack/and or case contacts.
No, its only wow. All other audio content has no issues
Did you try unplugging/replugging in your modem?
I plugged in a different audio system and everything is fine. Must be a bad cable or issue with my other audio setup.
Last time this happened to me, it turned out to be gas escaping from an almost-but-not-quite-sealed pop bottle next to my computer.
No, it is wow. It’s not a hardware issue. I encountered the same thing with wow a few days back. The moment I would enter the green area events my audio would go all static whine. Problem would go away when I left the area. It doesn’t happen anymore though so I assume it was an audio file bug that they’ve since fixed. Quite possible a similar issue is affecting you.
Try running a repair on your wow installation.
I have complete audio disconnects for the last week. I window out and youtube plays fine then go back in game and no audio ?
I have run the scan and repair several times and it still happens
I’ve had the same issues with my new desktop. It is odd, but if I turn off my SS system the sound stops.
What’s more odd, adjusting anything has no effect, EXCEPT, turning max FPS down in the game. Mine is now set at a max of 120 FPS and the hum is minimal.
As I go to 121 122 increasing, the hum starts again.
There is something with the game that causes this, and WoW is the ONLY game that has this issue.
I’m running a Nvidia GE Force RTX 3070 now, but my previous desktop with a lot lower specs did the same thing in the game.
your ss system? what is the ss system?
yeah it’s something with the game. every now and then I get a faint crackle from the in game sound. it doesn’t last long and only happens now and then so it’s no biggie but it’s definitely there and only in WoW.
if its from your sound system…then yeah that audio jack is dying/damaged.
Well, it’s good to see that you haven’t changed your answer to this issue in one year. I admire consistency.
Like the firm yet moist consistency of fresh ‘you know what’.
I too have issue with this buzzing sound coming from speakers while playing WoW.
it’s a cport connection issue, might be partially connected, sometimes plugs have issues making full contact
because its correct. good to know in 8 months your still wrong.
I had my audio just cut out today. When I started looking into it, all my audio settings were turned off. Weird.
I once had a computer that did this.
It was a weird driver issue, and this same computer (along with a couple others) REALLY did not like certain versions of Unreal Engine games.
I’d boot said games up, play for awhile, about 30 minutes or so and then the audio starts crackling and popping with the noise getting progressively worse until I reboot the computer and then I could play another 30-45 minutes until it starts happening again.
It could be that some update changed the game and now there’s some kind of weird bug between the game’s software and the driver software and they just don’t get along anymore.
Not sure what you’re talking about, but okay.
Uh, no, you’re flat out wrong.
The OP clearly stated that WoW is the one-and-only game that does this.
This rules out any hardware issue. Being a computer hobbyist who has built, maintained, and troubleshooted my own computers for more than 20 years now, I can firmly say that Hardware is 100% not the issue here.
If it were a hardware issue, like a bad jack or something wrong with the circuitry, then IT WOULD HAPPEN WITH ALL SOFTWARE AND NOT JUST WOW.
Simple, common sense deduction. Most people simply don’t have it.
