Retail AH really doesn’t need addons, unless like you stated you’re trying to squeeze out every copper available from the market which most players don’t.
I just want an easy to use AH. The default AH is really bad so I’m forced to use addons, but now the addons are throttled.
I made ~25,000G on the AH between August 2019 and May 2021 when TBC launched.
I also didnt have any character above Level 49 until August 2021.
Playing the AH is part of the fun for me. And “LoL YoU sHoUld JuSt DiSabLe Ur AdDonS JeDDoRT” is not a solution because the same “INTERNAL AUCTION ERROR” error occurs when trying to buy items with AH Addons disabled.
“LoL WeLL i NeVeR HaVe N E proLLBluMs uSiNg thE AuCTiOn HoUSe”.
Oh, okay. So I guess myself and numerous other players reporting this same problem are all just part of a grand hallucination that spans multiple servers, time zones, and continents.
It might in a sense there will be MUCH LESS traffic.
Current AH basically requires an addon. There is a reason why AH addons have some download count as DBM
Once Retail AH comes out, a lot of people will ditch those addon. I’ll be one of them.
The way to play the retail AH is to be the most frequent/recent poster of any item. Since it incentivizes or people usually list things at the same price on retail (from what I have heard or read), the one that was most recently posted shows up on top.
What? The classic team literally said they are throttling addons over the default AH interface. So using an addon WIL BE SLOWER than the default UI. However, even the default UI is getting errors.
So this isn’t talking about people posting a few items per day. This is about bulk buyers and sellers. Using addons is pretty much mandatory and it provides features that saves time over the long run. Can you even imagine trying to sell in a high turnover market like glyphs with the default AH. Crazy.
Saying all that, the OPs suggestions are just fixing a symptom of a minor issue. not the actually problem nor the underlying cause.
No addon is ‘mandatory’, the game is perfectly functional in its base form.
It’s 3rd party software. The only reason people use add-ons is because it gives them an advantage over the base UI provided by Blizzard. Nobody has any moral or ethical rights to be indignant if the add-on stops working, and if you are then take it to the developer of the mod.
Stop being a child and have a real conversation.
My point, as above, is that no add-on is mandatory and as 3rd party software Blizzard has no responsibility for it. Based on my limited observations, the most egregious issues on the AH appear to consistently affect users with AH addons. The solution for me seems pretty simple.
But sure, complain to Toyota that your non-Toyota aftermarket muffler doesn’t fit.
At the end of the day, “internal auction error” looks like a bug or a broken game. I’m not sure how Blizzard is happy to let their UI constantly report errors to users.
You ever hear of “right to repair”? You would be a little pissed if putting that identical but cheaper toyota part on your lexus voided the warranty, especially considering the only
Difference is brand. Same part number just different packaging.
Your analogy is actually good in regards that like car manufacturers, bluzzard is actively descriminating against 3rd party mechanics.
It should not be possible to cancel an AH listing once a bid has been placed.
This is not a cure-all, but neither is it "OMG WE CANT DEDICATE THOUSANDS OF GNOME-HOURS TO RECODING THE AH TO ADD (or remove) THIS FUNCTIONALITY" levels of effort to implement.
If Äáâãäå cant cancel his 1S 1000G buyout listings for gems, cloth once I bid 1S – that behavior vanishes overnight.
