From what I remember is that the auction houses will not be linked. Will the one in booty bay still be the crossover for factions?
I think I saw something that basically said the 3 in the capitals are all combined, but the neutral ones are separate.

The intent is that they will not be linked. I seem to recall Blizzard talking about it in one of the dev sessions. It is still unclear whether they will have the man-power to actually de-link the AH’s, since it would require significant database work, but I am sure that they will do their best to accomplish it.
I remember the cross-over AHs too. While I would not call it an integral part of the game (I barely used the functionality myself, at the time), it was a fairly well known mechanism.
I’m more worried about the pet AI mechanics myself. The original game had a far more sophisticated pet AI than the current retail game, and a lot of people were pissed off when Blizzard changed it. For some reason Blizzard thought that they had to make it less ‘confusing’ to players. It’s been broken ever since. For example, in the original game you could stack the chain of MOBs you wanted your pet to attack, in the order you wanted your pet to attack them. In the modern game the pet is always trying to return to your side even though you are still in combat with mobs that you clearly want your pet to attack. Its annoying as heck.

In vanilla your pet was actually something you put time into and raised. You trained it and fed it, and in reward you got loyalty. These are the things that modern wow players do not understand. There is an actual emotional bond into things you put time and effort into, not just some digitized pixel that is by your side.

There would be little point to the neutral ones if they were to (they won’t) link the factions.
All of the alliance ones will be linked to each other.
All of the horde ones will be linked to each other.
and then the neutral AH will be its own thing.
Is the one in Gadgetzan neutral as well?
The neutral ones are in the goblin cities. I don’t remember which ones existed in vanilla.
I know in Vanilla there was one in BB and I’m pretty sure one was in Gatgetzan. I think the Everlook one was there too but I’m not as sure.
The auction houses became linked at some point in Vanilla. They were definitely linked by 1.12 so they will be linked in Classic

Yes. IIRC the neutral AHs were not linked to each other.
Booty Bay, Gadgetzan and Winterspring (not certain of the WS one).
They did become linked at some point, maybe in 2.0. Not sure if they will be linked in classic or not (time/effort needed to unlink them may be seen as a waste by Blizzard).
I feel like the Everlook auction house was added later, not sure if it was during vanilla or not though.
The winterspring auctioneer was added in 1.11
Are you sure about that? I know in early BC I used the tanaris one a few times and it always had green hills pages in it.
Almost positive. Shredder manual pages as well.
I had a hunter back then. I wouldn’t call it a bond, just more of a guarantee that I’m not going to get yelled at when the idiot runs off and pulls everything.
Ya, I guess its how immersed you are in your role, and trying to role play your character. YMMV.
