Buy item listed level 70 but is really a level 80. Use a filter for upgrades only on a level 70 or set the search for level 70 and still get level 80 gears. Never have had that happen before. What’s going on? Not using any auction addon. This is really becoming a pain.
and while Blizzard is at fixing the AH query system, they should also add a filter to require a min quality for mats and crafted items
if you search item name, shows the various qualities
(maybe i’m not understanding?)
sometimes you get a long list, e.g. for gems, and I want Quality 3 only
when you search for the specific gem you want, you should get all 3 varieties
…unless gems don’t display the same as other mats?
(i’d check but i’m in a cave)

…or are you saying that you want to be able to search for all level 3 gems regardless of gem type?
as in a filter which doesn’t display any 1 or 2 gems?
yes that is the idea
Then if you search for a gem in the list and you don’t know the exact name, you find all the rank 3 gems together without results from unwanted rank 1 and 2 in between, which currently bloats the search results list.

I’m searching for weapons and gear. Items are listed as level 70, when you try to buy, it comes up for level 80. At that point I cancel buy. It doesn’t seem to matter what search parameters or filter I use it does the same thing.

i just tried 70-70 in the search, and only got level 70 stuff in response to the query

scratch that, i had the same thing happen when going to the purchase page.
all items are listed as 80

Is this because Blizzard has the same greens/blues dropping from 70-80 that just have different ilvls? I know the level 80 stuff has a wide range of ilvls for the same item (even the color quality doesn’t quite match because the higher stuff is blue, but AH is listing it as green). I never really scrolled down to look at the lower stuff. But maybe if it’s the same item but for lower levels / ilvls, that’s why the “80” stuff is showing up, because it’s all under the blanket listing for that “item” despite there being several versions of it.
