I just started playing WoW Classic SoD a week ago to join my friends and am now at 40ish hours or so right now. I just wanted to share my perspective of the auction house changes, and I would really appreciate some clearer official information as to when I should expect to be able to use the auction house again.

I’m genuinely confused why I can’t do use the auction house anymore? Is this intentional like official comments I saw on another post suggest? Is it temporary to address a bug?

Is it 30 days of time played in-game until the restriction lifts, or does the restriction lift when the second month of your subscription begins?
I am stuck making a fraction of the money I was last week. As a Shaman I do not find enough mana consumables questing to keep up with my casting (or have yet to find the NPC vendor who sells them.) I had learned to sell my excess gear/loot to buy supplies like mana pots for questing. I’m genuinely confused why I can’t do this anymore? Is this intentional like official comments I saw on another post suggest?
I was running skinning + engineering to make money from hides and supply my engineering materials from the AH because the engineering weapons seem pretty fun as a new player. I quested with skinning & herbalism to grind out some gold using the auction house, and one of my buddies gifted me some to help out. I then switch from herbalism to engineering and find myself confused to discover I cannot buy any of these tantalizing engineering materials I was eagerly grinding for because I’m now restricted from the auction house? As a new player who had thought up and was executing a plan to use the AH so I could explore a profession that sounded more fun to me than picking flowers, this was pretty frustrating feeling like I was put on hold for 3 days. Boy did it suck seeing today on the WoW forums from Blizzard staff that this is an intentional thing for new players. I need to hit 30 days of time played to re-gain access to a feature I was using for my first 35 or so hours?
I already have 40 hours in the game in one week, and now I feel like I’m being punished as a player because Blizzard released an unbalanced update and had to crack down on the economy. I don’t understand who approved a decision that’s so against new players, especially when one of the current biggest issues the community has with the game is the excessive gold late-game players were able to make with the phase 3 incursions.
The game had me as a huge fan after a week despite me teasing my friends about paying monthly for a game in the past. I would love to continue enjoying this game and am happy to become one of those subscribers I had previously joked about, it’s just a bummer to have the game do a complete 180 on a mechanic I had plans involving, especially with little to no official comments or notice.
I hope to hit the drawing board and see if I can accomplish my plan with plain old vendors instead. I want to keep being hooked on this game, it’s a fun hobby, but it’s odd being punished without explanation at the 30-35 hour mark. If any fellow players have suggestions about how I could get mana consumables and engineering materials for lvl 1-75 without the auction house I’d also appreciate that.
Anyways, on a serious note does anyone know if it’s 30 days of time played in game until the restriction lifts, or does the restriction lift when the second month of your subscription begins?
