My freshly-minted 25 has to buy a dozen items of gear from the Auction House to be considered for a BFD group.
For just one gear item, I observed the reseller Mafia buy every listed item at 5-8g (which I was hoping would drop to under 4g) then relist them an hour later for 20g. A Mafia which lists under different seller names (maybe one seller with multiple accounts).
Thank you very much, price-gouging Mafia, now I cannot get to see BFD.
Thank you Blizzard/Activision/Microsoft, for allowing this reseller Mafia to exist and effectively gate content to a subscriber who has to work a real job (and who pays with real money, not tokens).

I have done BFD on 4 characters and never bought one boe on the auction house. Who told you that you have to buy gear to get into a BFD raid?
Well I guess you better run some dungeons before the next lockout
Lol, after gdkp it’s AH.
You’re a mage. You can farm as much gold as you want. You should be the one selling boes in AH. Not buying
Just wait until all these GDKPers have no place to dump their gold anymore. They’ll have all the time in the world to dump into AH and monopolize high tier items.
Good luck ever buying a black lotus you didn’t pick yourself, etc
You do not need anything off AH for first time BFD.
Join a guild, run sfk, wc and dm for your pre-raid items and do the raid. Easy, nothing to see here, move on folks.

SoD seems to share some similarities to SoM, so it is likely black lotus will be a drop chance from high level herbs if I had to guess.
This problem would be solved with a raid finder, but blizzard only wants to cater to the mafia. Well, aggrend, anyway. Can tell in how he talks about things where his priorities are. Good guy, has done some good things, but not the man to reach this to its full potential.
That is a pretty good point. Controlling prices on the AH is another way to facilitate people buying their gold. There should be price limits.
