I spent 6 minutes last night trying to buy an item but because people are spamming low prices for 1 mat in efforts to bait people to post there stuff cheap, the stack is always changing and it has to reload.
I don’t know the best way to fix it but this LIFO system is abysmal in high traffic.
The system is actually LIFO which is why it’s a problem. Agree that the “bait” bids are annoying, but I’ve made 30k or so sniping them so far. Not nearly as much as I made right after DF launch but it’s something.
You’re describing people undercutting with one mat. That’s not the LIFO system, that’s someone undercutting which happened before the AH update.
You’re more likely having an issue with the AH being region wide, vs only for your server.
Also, if you’re using TSM trying to buy high volume commodities, it can sit there constantly scanning before it lets you purchase. Just switch to the default wow interface for those purchases.
It’s an expansion…early access…so there’s a lot of people playing right now. It also means there are high demand and high thorough put through the AH right now especially for trade goods.
You slap on top of that regional trading and addons like Trade Skill Master and it’s incredibly difficult to facilitate buying from the cheapest stack on the trading post because its constantly changing.
With the regional action house system there needs to be a system of buy orders introduced to the AH. This would solve a lot of the problems.
will not work well with one of the new rare mats you can get to make the engineering mount. no one is going to wait for them to get 100 of them just to post them on ah
How to solve the 1-stack buy? Make the AH like the stock market: let buyers place in an order to buy up to X amount under Y price by Z time. Then if people post 1-stacks of stuff to screw sellers, they automatically get swept up by pending orders.
With warbank, that would be kind of hard to do since anyone can send gold to whatever server has the lowest price for a thing through warbank, buy there, toss items in warbank, pull out of warbank and sell on whatever server has the highest prices, rinse and repeat.
I rather have it local too. It helps with the bot problem too. Bots bot on low pop realms then they throw it up on the region wide AH. That’s why the market crash hard and fast in DF.
