Auction House Extremely Slow Today

I may be ignorant but tell me then how when I list an item for sale, within seconds someone has relisted over my sale? you mean to tell me they sit there checking everything constantly?

I agree nerf DH

and by then, might as well start relisting

Sorry but the average person does not have HUNDREDS OF LISTINGS

good riddance.

Yes, but the new change throttles anything over 25. Hardly hundreds.

I went to post my set of glyphs on one alt, a set of ~50 pets on another alt, and some rare transmogs on a third.

It was averaging me close to 15 minutes to post ~45 items.

From my experience it only delays you by a few minutes if you are over 25, so around 30-40

Now if you have 400, then you should get throttled for hours.

So you are saying you posted 25 items, and then the game didnt allow you to post another 20 for 15 minutes?

Cuz i posted 25 items normally with no addons with no issues, and I highly doubt posting another 5 would require me 15 mins.

Maybe try posting normally instead of using addons.

Nope this AH is 100% better then the old one. I’m glad i don’t need to see people like you listing 100 single stacks of whatever item anymore. So much snappier and cleaner that they better not get rid of it.

I can literally list just as much using the vanilla interface… just right click the item and hit post… The issue is with the timer.

The intention is bad, so it might as well be a bug.

Can a mod lock this thread please? It has devolved…

You’ve sunk the AH. Nice one. Market is gonna shrink like crazy.

Which is hilarious when you consider that they literally just revamped the AH as to alleviate the issues of the old AH and in less than a years time they have had to tack on a throttling system to said “new and improve” auction house… and I am honestly not even sure why they did it to begin with!

What problem did this actually solve? Service issues? Beg pardon, wasn’t that why the AH was revamped in the first place? Make it more efficient both player side and server side and its already been deemed necessary to throttle the new AH???

The players who generate all of the AH traffic are using addon-driven automation to gain a competitive economic advantage over other players, in addition to the increasing strain on the game service

Yeah, the same addon driven, and I can’t quote/air quote this hard enough, “automation” they have been using just fine for years with the old AH and back then the complaint was single stacks.

Look, I use TSM because every other day I am posting upwards of 500-1000 auctions comprised of Transmog (limited to one per appearance), Current Trade Goods, Current Equipment, Current Consumables, Old Trade Goods, Pets, Toys, Resources, etc. and I am most certainly not a goblin*.

Its just absurd because this is going to harm server economies more than its going to help, especially low pop servers that already have very empty AH’s by comparison.

Blizzard’s decision is utterly frustrating to observe. They redesigned the AH both client side and server side and apparently the server side changes were not enough? Apparently the new AH needs to be throttled while the old AH never needed to be?

This is going to hurt casual players the most. I am not sure what Blizz is thinking anymore. :woman_facepalming: :man_facepalming: :woman_facepalming: :man_facepalming:

Question, Do All the various AH addons cause that much of an issue? I never used TSM, but I have used Auctionator until yesterday when I noticed it running super slow.

I wonder just how many players are using these addon’s and if the higher than average numbers do in part to the brontosaurus mount being removed is causing to much of a strain on the servers.

Economies… Of… A… Video… Game… Hmmmm Yes…

Yep! I know its cool on the forums to hate people with money, eat the rich, etc, etc. fight the evil corporate man and all that… but this is going to have an impact on players as well and especially on the low pop servers that already have crippled, struggling, economies.

Honestly I think this is Blizzard targeting TSM. Not going to lie, TSM has been a lifesaver for me because instead of spending 30-40 minutes listing hundreds to upwards of a thousand different listings I am able to input my custom made formulas and then with a single press per item I can post them. Its sped up using the AH dramatically so I can get back to actually playing the game.

I only ever do my AH stuff once every other day, sometimes even longer.

TSM is certainly a lot quicker to handle auctioning with than Auctionator which I use to use before WoD. TSM just has a TON of setup and you really need to learn the ins and outs of it to use it.

According to the devs, a tiny minority but who knows. /shrug

Which is another slap in the face. They are removing the Brutosaur, which the mega thread is still going strong and they still choose to ignore it, and then they turn around and do this to people working towards it?

Blizzard has been making some really good decisions lately, this is absolutely not one of them.

Yep, apparently I manually post items one-by-one too fast, because I got throttled and had to wait between items.

Well, maybe if enough people voice their concerns the Developers will figure out another way to fix w/e problems they are dealing with.

Here is hoping, they have been very good about listening to feedback as of late… well, aside from the Brutosaur feedback thread which has several thousand responses and is still active even though its several months old now.

Who knows, hopefully the change is reversed.

I had to turn my 1 addon off because it was just quicker for me to list manually, but I’m also not listing as many items as say you do or others.

Here is to hoping some form of work around from Blizzard comes out to help fix these issues.
