right now it’s like less than a bag worth of stuff… like what?
If you run transmog you are well over that already

But you see them. They are available. When people cannot list them anymore - they’re simply not available at any price.
I wouldn’t mind it as long it only affects people/bots(!) camping AH most of their logged in time.
imagine people who sell glyphs, enchant mats, etc…they are using the AH to get gold for whatever other means they do in this game, this huge limiting factor has increased the time anyone has to spend on the AH tenfold and now EVERYONE has less time to do other things in the game.
Multiboxing isn’t against the rules BECAUSE OF MONEY.
If someone was running their own raids with a bunch of different classes you might have a point, but when it’s a guy using a program to mirror all his inputs to 10 different clients all playing druids then posting 140000 of the same herb on the AH you’re just wrong.
I’d be willing to agree to some sort of middle ground between those two groups of people being allowed, but the gatherers need to go away.
I’ve long felt that there should be a cap on the maximum number of auctions each account can have up at once, like Blizzard did for Diablo 3.
There’s no reason you should have more than, say, 50 auctions up at once. None. Go play one of the “Tycoon” games instead, if that’s your thing.
Just in general this is very often the case. When I hear a far-fetched rationale for some change that was made, I look for some reason that may make sense to the devs.
They should print that on the Shadowlands box.
As someone who plays on a server where there is not enough supply with multibox farmers - I wholeheartedly disagree with your statement.
The fact that Blizzard is making this move shows that they really don’t care what happens to the people who park their bot at the AH every day.
Hey! Did you know you can just import a string for any of those to do something? TSM you can’t and has tons of ‘set up’ videos? Neat huh?
Honestly this change will only hurt the majority of players because the small percent you are targeting have multiple accounts/a dedicated account for the auction house and the throttling wont deter them.
I have a bank alt for posting things on the auction house due to the 6+ alts I have and its easier to keep track of things by using that one alt than checking each character individually. Most people do this and all this change does is make the auction house more difficult to use.
And I don’t buy that the auction house is whats causing the server lag. If it had then its been doing it for over a decade. coughbullcrapcough
Just revert the change and find/fix the real reason for the server lag.
The new changes are fine. They don’t even affect 99% of the player base anyway.
The only people who suffer from this are the gold hoarders who use and abuse add one in order to manipulate the supply and demand of the AH. And those people suck so who cares.
I don’t even make enough money to buy a brutosaur’s toenail and I still think this is a pants-on-head decision.
This is a very upsetting change. It has taken me hours to complete my auction scans what I can normally do in 30 minutes. Have any players actually reported any AH slowness issues as a result of people using TSM to scan?? It seems like an artificial issue to me. I don’t see how TSM gives anyone an advantage beyond that of any other addon that is available in the game.
As another player commented, there will always be a small majority of players in the game willing to spend their time filling a niche in the game, like providing materials, consumables, transmog, cosmetic items, and toys to the rest of the playerbase.
All this change has done is make it frustrating and slow for those of us who spend hours crafting and ensuring the AH is stocked for the playerbase to enjoy. Goldmaking is a legitimate way to enjoy playing the game, just like farming, collecting, achievement hunting, or doing pvp or pve content. It is unfair that we are being penalised in this way.
Edit - as a further point, this additional time I have spent posting my auctions has taken me away from time I would have spent actually playing the game on my other characters.
Well, thats not correct, because Professions give me more than 50 things per profession to sell, per expansion, just to play the game as intended with the content provided.
Granted, the only reason professions still exist at this point is as a gold sink to drive token sales.
Seriously, get rid of professions and Blizz can do whatever they like to the AH.
I think most people who are grinding gold for the mount are not playing the auction house to get it. I know I’m not.
I always liked to sell in full stacks at a nice discount. Things sold well that way and never needed to be relisted. I hardly ever sell anything anymore.
So you want there to be nothing on the AH when you go to buy something you need.
Old mats, transmog, etc would be severely hurt by that.
I dont know when you last downloaded TSM but TSM now has a default setting that will automatically take whatever is in your bags and list it. no set up required.
In my world everyone already knows cursive calligraphy so that wouldn’t be an issue.
