i would like to see attunements in modern wow again recently i completed some of the classic wow attunements it was a fun long and very rewarding experience just being abel to earn your way into a dungeon or raid is a good sense of progression
it also drives community

Hotel Azshara had a soft attunement of needing to have completed the quests to get the tidestone back to enter the raid without a summons for all of like, two weeks and these forums were ablaze with complaints. I kinda doubt a real attunement would be well received these days if it were anything more than 3-4 minute long quests.

No, it doesn’t.
Attunements are a like having a baby. It sounds good, and you remember how wonderful and beautiful it is to be pregnant, and then when its time for delivery EVERY single memory of pain, agony and misery comes flooding back and only then you remember why you said never again the first time.
Anyways, the point is this, people lost their marbles because Blizzard didn’t reveal with precise detail how to get the pre-order transmog, even though this is an RPG and as such it’s ok certain things are a mystery. This generation is not prepared to handle attunements again. They need to consume content at an unhealthy rate no matter what. Gimme, gimme! grubby hands
Classic is a very different experience, and it does have a nice tint of nostalgia attached to it. When you log into Classic, you already made a mental bargain that the grind is ok because its Classic. That doesn’t happen in Retail.
No, attunements do not need to return and they DONT drive community anymore. They are just another form of time-gate and elitism for the few who have more time than the many.

Lol people lost their mind because you could choose to do it over 5 days for only a few minutes a day or grind it out. You can choose how to get it but people crying about either having to grind it or it being time gated…

No. No it doesn’t at all. Every time they have tried this, it gets people on the forum complaining until its taken out…because that means whatever requires done, has to be done per char for alts, etc. Just let attunements stay in classic and go on.

Unless the attunement is account wide unlock (like mythic Siege and King’s Rest) and doesn’t take much time or effort to do, No.
No one in retail wants to have to do an attunement grind on alts to enter a raid or dungeon.
I’ve got 11 120’s one of every class except monk. If I had to do an attunement on each and every single one of them to enter a dungeon or raid, I would quit.

No, it isn’t a fact because you are playing an entirely different game, with different mentality. That is the point.
That kind of thing has been proven to NOT work in Retail.
These already exist - they’re tied to your ilvl.

They did it with BFA though…both KR and SoB needed attunement: a questline finished. People hated it. They did it with Legion.

I didn’t even know if the MOTHERLODE!! requirement required heroic. I just picked heroic so that it’d bribe people with satchels to run me through it.
I’m with ya, its a really cool narrative experience. I saved the exposing Onyxia in Stormwind to ding 60 with. It’s just different player bases. The current direction retail has taken is the exact opposite of Classic WoW. They don’t enjoy the same things, and that’s okay. Maybe one day they’ll revert some changes, you can already see some influences in Shadow Lands.

I loved doing the attunement required for UBRS, Onyxia60, Naxxramas60 (even though I never got to explore further then the main entrance)
Getting the key to Scholomance through a questline was fun
Cool, go play Classic then. I like being able to play what I want, when I want, once I hit the level for it.

Those same people refused to do it solely because it was a Mythic only dungeon. Demanding for there to be a queue.
