So knowing that TBC is patch 2.4.3 there are things to note with regards to Attunements:
- Patch 2.4 Removed the Attunements for both Hyjal and Black Temple
- Patch 2.3 Reduced the reputation requirements from Revered to Honored on Heroic Keys
- The Attunements for Serpentshrine and Tempest Keep were made to be no longer required in a hotfix as well as patch 2.4 let your raid skip straight to the end boss in T5
- Patch 2.4 removed the need to have the Masters Key to enter karazhan will this also be in or will your entire raid need the key
Can we have a proper clarification on attunements outside of a non answer from an interview which is:
Dungeon and raid attunements will be as we remember them from The Burning Crusade. However, it is possible that we will see some adjustments over time.
because attunements as we remember them differ from each person and changed from patch to patch as some examples are listed above.

Some clarification on the specifics for attunements would be greatly appreciated please.
based on what they said I would anticipate the original attunements until ZA releases then the nerfed version.

From what they’re saying it seems like they will have attunements follow the same timeline TBC did. So attunements removed in the phase corresponding to the patch in which they were removed back in actual TBC. Looking at your examples above patch 2.4 removed the BT and Hyjal attunements, so I expect those attunements to be removed in the Sunwell phase of TBC Classic (which corresponds to patch 2.4.)
That’s just my interpretation of what he said. Agreed that some clarification here would be nice.

the problem with what they said is, its a very open ended non answer that leaves it far too open to interpretation.
its one thing if they said they’re doing progression based attunements that change based on the phases meaning by phase 5 with sunwell the Hyjal and BT attunements are no longer required and the phases reflect the attunement changes but they didnt say anything of that nature, they left it open to player imagination which is good and bad
every one knows as TBC went on there were modifications/removals of attunements but nobody knows what we’re getting for TBC classic. a more concrete idea would be appreciated IMO, than what was said in the interview. and they might just not have a proper answer yet either.
A nice addon to get is called “Attune” it is an ingame list of what you need to do for each raid/heroic
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/attune
It will be very handy imo for people that don’t know what to do for the attunement quests like myself.
Just type /attune to open the UI
I know that this isnt the topic of the thread but whatever i was gonna say has already been said so might as well reply with something that might help others.

No it is a nice addon and really handy especially if classic TBC uses prenerf.
its just when it comes to classic TBC not knowing the scope of what attunements are going to be in ill be interested to see how they update it.
I’m betting 2.4.3 is for balancing and what not.
As far as phase progression I believe it will be the first attunement phase.
I absolutely think clarification is needed BUT I also think we’ll see the following:
- Revered for Heroic keys
- Attunement requirements intact for all Raids
- ZA and/or Sunwell Phase lightening the attunement requirements to let people catch up
Since the Devs have already expressed a willingness to push Arena 1 up into Phase 1, and leave Phase 4 as just ZA plus associated outdoor dailies, Phase 4 is probably the best time to lift the restrictions so you can rush to Vashj/Kael, have an easier time getting into Heroics, etc, making all of Phase 4 the “catch up before Sunwell” Phase.
