Why do people get mad when I need roll on Cruel Barb as a hunter? It’s attack power and I do melee sometimes.

Since people won’t look down on the comments before responding, I worded it this way so people would “disagree” with me. My actual question was: Why do hunters roll need on Cruel Barb? I’ve pretty much stopped grouping with them till I get it.
bait or not, are we back to, ranged attacks don’t benefit from attack power? or are we post attack power split? I recall how happy hunters were to finally benefit from that Dire Maul buff.
if he or she can equip it, the hunter will always roll on it

ok. But, why? Then they get mad and put you on ignore if you roll on a range weapon. (for the record, this is my “viewer” experience, not something I did)

It’s even less restrictive than that. If the Need button can be pressed, a hunter will press it.
Had a hunter need the shield from Miner Johnson. No matter how old this game is, it’s always hunters needing on everything.

TBH I don’t care, but ppl have all sorts of issues. It’s humanity, it’s not about the game. If it were about the game I think people would be less uppity about it, but instead they’re bringing their issues into the picture, yknow?
I personally was 90% positive that CB’s didn’t add ranged attack power, but I recently noticed they do on my own hunter. Now I’d def have no problem with a hunter wanting them. I jsut wanted to be cool… but now I’m REALLY cool.
Are they though? Are hunters really people like you and me?
Sometimes I’m not so sure.

Possibly for the same reason that dude rolled on Epic Xbow in BFD as a rogue? It’s attack power and he does range attacks sometimes.

I’ve got entire runes (I don’t use) dedicated to ranged finishers.
Crossbow specifically states ranged attack power. So the rogue failed to read it properly at that point or was trolling.
Gear wise if it just says attack power it is both melee and ranged. If it specifically says melee or ranged though it is exclusively that. Buffs usually specifically melee attack power now or just attack power. It isnt 100% on everything though in terms of buffs.
The Xbow is actually very strong for rogues in pvp as it is a slow speed high weapon damage. But it does come at the cost of their melee hits being a little weaker due to the stats only effecting ranged damage. If a rogue is more so focusing on their new ranged runes to say, kite other melee so they cant be hit back, its effective. But its more of a meme way to fight in most cases.

Melee hunters aren’t a complete meme in SoD. Maybe a hunter is playing melee, or wants to play melee but doesn’t have weapons they feel will suffice yet, and Cruel Barb is one of the weapons they want before playing melee.
You could argue that a rogue benefits from it more over a hunter, but at this point we now have to have strict and unanimous categorization of who benefits the most from any and every piece of gear in the game - not just between classes, but between individual players as well - in a forced “need before greed” situation. Which would probably result in a lot of rogues wanting to avoid ever grouping with a single warrior if they’re both after a similar piece of loot.
It’s attack power. It’s not melee attack power.

When people complain that I need something as a hunter I always just say “because I need it. I have a better chance at getting it than if I roll greed or pass” and it always upsets them which is funny in a 20 year old game. Let me need the sword i can use hehe may the rolls be in your favor. If I win the roll, the game wants me to have it and the classic gods have spoken.
If there’s a rogue or fury war in group who needs the wep and a hunter needs it, I automatically assume the hunter is a noob troll.

attack power effects hunters unless its specifically melee attack power.
wouldn’t take it unless horde tho, the 15 ap weap from bfd quest is almost equal to bis with it
