i’ve been in this form for almost a year and I’ve read tens of thousands of posts. I feel like complaints and feedback seem to dominate the forum so I’m just kind of curious… at what point did YOU stop enjoying this game?
I enjoy the game. Hence, I waste time at work on the forums. If you don’t enjoy, you should stop engaging.
Pretty simple stuff.
If people aren’t enjoying the game, they shouldn’t be playing it. The only reason I could think of that they’d keep playing is because they’re addicted, and I mean in a bad way.
I quit over 2 years ago. The story was bad. I also hated the direction it was going. Gameplay-wise I didn’t like how my class played then. There also wasn’t a lot to do. I had better options so I left.
Only came back last Xmas. The class plays better now - although the loss of the elemental was regrettable. There is also more solo content now.
I wouldn’t say I stopped enjoying the game, however, I find myself playing less and less these days. But, I feel like that’s due to my own paradigm shift.
I stopped enjoying the game in Shadowlands, but then Shadowlands ended, so I started enjoying the game again. Yay!
The game is fine. Society as a whole has changed and not for the better.
The game stopped being as much fun due to the mentality shift of the playerbase.
Once people stopped being friendly and helpful, it was over.
Happens in every game. When it’s new, everyone is a noob so everyone is friendly. The game ages, some players get more experienced and knowledgable, and become “snobs” that don’t tolerate others that aren’t as capable as themselves.
There’s times I get ticked off at the game, but I still enjoy it. What upsets me is when I see a pitiful effort go into maintaining the game, like fixing bugs that are getting ignored.
I haven’t stopped enjoying the game, if I wasn’t enjoying the game I wouldn’t be paying the subscription fee for it.
Exactly, or wasting time grinding gold for tokens.
Still enjoying it
This is true.
I’d love it if they’d mix it up every couple of expansions.
Things like changing the way scaling works, changing CC durations and DRs could help keep the mastery level lower.
Just mixing things up so you have to remaster it every few seasons could help.
A big part of the forum is providing feedback. Most feedback that people take the time to provide is usually negative.
That said, the game is probably in its best design state since I came back to the game in 8.2 and there’s still room for improvement like there always will be. For example, the story has kind of died off after a very strong 11.0.
I get bored after a couple months, and go play other stuff for the rest of the year. Even my other favorite games get boring after a couple of months. I just get to a point where I’m like “what am I doing this for? What else could I be playing?” And eventually I get the idea in my head to play something else, and almost never turn back until months or years later.
I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t like the game.
Does make me wonder if so many people “claim” they don’t like WoW why the hell are they here posting in the forums. Very odd behaviour to say the least.
Something to keep in mind though is that criticizing the game is not the same as hating it.
I have this weird problem where I enjoy the game too much, which leads to stress and less enjoyment
I love multiple aspects of this game, and I love making new characters. I like collecting, raiding, achievements, etc., but I don’t have nearly enough time to do it all, so it is kind of bittersweet.
I’ve had various points that I didn’t enjoy the game mostly towards the end of Legion (Argus patch) onward, and so when it gets to that point, I take a break and don’t play.
It’s been various reasons for the different breaks, each caused by one or more of them - not liking where the story was going, not liking in-game systems/changes (I get really annoyed with Blizzard trying to reinvent the wheel every damn expansion), not having the energy required to relearn how to play after major changes, or just getting way more into another game or hobby that there was no point in paying for something I wasn’t using.
At the moment though, I am enjoying the game, so here I am.
Wouldn’t say I don’t enjoy it, Blizzard has a very crap take on the fantasy appeal of priest and it’ll be nice if they’d do better.
