At what character level can a BM hunter have 2 pets active at the same time?

Can someone tell me at what level I’m able to have 2 pets active at the same time (BM Hunter)?

I’ve played a BM hunter for over a decade and I rolled a new BM hunter but at level 29 when I call my pet (cat) it comes out but the other pet (dog) that’s loaded in my 1st pet slot in the stable never shows up. So, I wonder at what level should I see 2 pets active?

It’s in the talent tree as an option called Animal Companion.
