Did you just say good Will and communication from the degens on this forum?
Good luck with that.

Blizzcon will be virtual, and very interactive.
Due to the preorder set for 2020 they have to release it this year, or bad stuff.
I actually am keen for a November/December release.
I doubt they will delay the release as they have found that it is easier to ignore all of the bugs/issues that beta will identify and release based on a calendar than a completed product, after all they can fix issues after they have collected all the expansion money.
ITT: a bunch of people talk authoritatively about a product development cycle about which they know nothing.
Never change, GD.
This is the only quote I want the entire WoW community to see. Between high-stress working environments, working from home, and the Corona Virus, everyone should be patient. There’s already tons of movies, animes, games, conventions, expo’s, etc that are getting cancelled or delayed because of the last reason, so let’s just let the devs breathe a bit.
well, if they did delay it, it wouldn’t be the end of the world… just more time to play with Corruptions. wonder if i can get a few more of the ones i want and proc leech and sockets and on the right items in the right slot with the right stats. etc etc etc.
These 2 thing do not go together
8 months away we have no idea, probably not.
Start banning people who behave like jerks then. Fear will keep the neckbeards in line. Fear of this battlestati— …Whoops! I started to monologue. An old habit from my days with the Twilight’s Hammer Cult.
Ahem! What I meant to say is that if Blizzard is a bit more proactive on what they discipline and why, and actually make false flagging carry a stiff consequence; we’ll see a much happier forum.
Oh the game will be delayed lol… the game to begin with is behind schedule, all patches this expansion were late. That being said I agree with you, but I don’t think it will matter. There is so much they would have to change in SL for it to be good, I honestly feel very burned with BFA that I have little to no faith in the company anymore. I hope for your sake i’m wrong and that the expansion is great, but with the GCD seemingly not going away, no signs of player housing, no updates to professions, or new innovated world content other than the tower of torgast which I think will be cool, but if that is it for 2 years… yeah right.
they already are - why do you think they changed the way essences worked.
From what I have read they outsource a lot of artwork to China and that probably has already caused Shadowlands to be delayed.
Hear me out. California is one state that has a drastically varying climate because of how “tall” it is. And a virus has a very short life span anyways of normally only a few hours or a couple days.
The way a virus spreads is it infects a host and injects that host with its own RNA, a type of DNA that is used to write and correct actual DNA. A virus is basically a microscopic copying machine, telling cells that create DNA to create its DNA instead of the cells own DNA. The copies then quickly mature and are spread around through various means.
Viruses are drug resistant because they are not made up of anything like normal life, and not having cells of their own. The only way to really “kill” a virus is to “starve” it of hosts, by temporarily stopping cells from accepting the virus through the same means that cells communicate and split with other cells.
The reason viruses seem more active in the colder seasons is not because they are dormant in warmer weather, as they are not. It is because they are better able to infect cells and replicate when the host is already weakened. Like when the host is already sick or fighting an infection or stress. This is why the flu virus for example seems to come back every winter, because people are catching the cold and other bacterial diseases that thrive in cold weather.
You can easily catch the flu or any other type of virus year round if you are sick or frail. And the only real way to prevent the flu is to not get sick from other sources. If you can prevent getting sick, viruses are much less likely to actually affect you.
What a flu shot does is basically teaches your body how to both identify a strain of a virus and learn to not accept RNA from such a thing, knowing that it isn’t part of your body. Unlike what it does with bacteria where it will straight up kill the foreign germ.
To anyone who actually knows how viruses operate, such things are not a threat in the slightest. Its like I say, ignorance is a sin, and only by learning can we be saved.
A quick google of “how do viruses work” brings up a nice wikipedia article describing such in a very easy to read and understand manner. Only the first couple paragraphs are neccesary to get the gist of it, which is basically what I explained already but shorter.
I’m thinking they will want it out before BlizzCon. I had been thinking August when they announced back in November, but now, leaning more towards September at the earliest.
I wouldnt mind a delay, give us korraks revenge for a few months and call it even.
Inless they want WoW to become Ghostlands i highly doubt that date.
So you dont expect covid-19 would affect game devolopment in any ways?
Secondly.
you expect it to be dead by blizzcon?
Id rather wait until 2021 for a polished expac than a BFA clone to appease the shareholders.
Just blame the delay on coronavirus and hold off on a release until the expac is actually finished.
I think the only delay of game development would be during the quarantine period where people are staying home and not working. But I don’t expect that to last more than a few weeks.
I wouldn’t say that covid-19 will be “dead” by blizzcon, just that it will have been long gone and old news by then.
There is no chance this will be delayed.
They have shareholders and a schedule to meet.
End of Times stuff be danged!
Blizzcon MIGHT be cancelled, yes. HA, yeah imagine a Blizzcon with NO fans where it is only virtual ticket ![]()
Wow players are notoriously unwashed at cons/in groups. This is a recipe for disaster!
It already has, “working from home.” But the fact that they are doing that, shows their intentions. They are working AROUND it, with things continuing as normally as possible.
They can try to ply the disease outbreak to get their legal wording amended. There are probably some countries where when they announced the 2020 release date they can be held under breach of agreement if they do not release it this year.
BlizzCon will go virtual if the physical convention is cancelled, but with the typical November date we don’t need to hear the axe drop on that until… I want to say June? At the earliest?
