When all is said and done, and the voting starts to wind down we need a plan. We need a plan to overthrow the tree, as the remaining 66% of voters we need to oppress the oppressor.
So when this happens, what do we vote for? Do we come together under the banner of the goo cat? Or do we combine our minds and support the spell tome?
Or shall we simply put our preferences aside and vote for which ever is in second at the time?
Together we can put aside our differences and ensure that tree with static falling animation character doesn’t become a reality.
I mean, in all honesty the other votes have all shifted percentages but tree never moves a single percent? Seems fishy.
66% is still a majority. Non-tree voters are still in range of victory if only we rise together and grasp it.
Out of curiosity what do tree voters expect?
I just want to point it out that if people are expecting their character to be standing in the branches grasping the tree ala LotR they are going to be disappointed.
That would require at least 16 new race animations to be made not including allied races sharing the same animation skeleton to make the new pose and be authentic.
That just realistically isn’t going to happen, so instead you will get the exact same thing we have seen one thousand times already for similar poses, the reuse of the fall or stealth animation badly fitting the animation of the mount.
To be honest only reason I picked tree is because the slime is a cat slime. Cat models are boring & over used. If it was a normal in game slime I would have voted for that without question.
(Although I’d understand making another choice, given that I’ve heard that “he who shall not be named” is pushing his minions to vote caterpillar.)
Have a look at the Stormgiant vehicle quests, or the sea giant one in Najzatar or even the Kyrian covenant quest where Pelagos carries the player.
There is unfortunately a 90% chance it’s going to be weird. All of Blizzard’s track record, including Shadowlands release shows that they still don’t understand how to animate those kinds of interactions.
Personally that is the big reason I don’t want tree. Every example we have seen has been done poorly.
Unless it’s a throne/seat cradled in the branches (which is not how they expressed the description) it will end up being pretty whack
