At least remove the monthly subscription or make expansions free

Well, if now we will have cool transmogs on the shop, at least we should not be paying to play the game or to be able to play the current expansion.

I don’t care if there are buyable comestics. Imo, it would be actually better to focus on cosmetic stuff so we have a more accessible game, but this cannot coexist with sub + exp price in a healthy way. You would have a largar playerbase and, therefore, more money to profit. Actually, many people I know don’t play the game due to the subscription price, but would be completely fine with cosmetics and maybe even buy it.

I understand the arguments against cosmetics, but I think that it would be better for the game popularity without compromising the gameplay itself.

If they make expansions free then they will have a lot less to them and items in store will cost a lot more.

I don’t think so. As I said, if you have a more popular game, you have more people to buy stuff… so you can balance how much maney you make. That’s the reason why most onlines games right now are free to play - it’s not because the companies are inherently worried about accessibility, but because it makes more money.

Jesus Christ you people catastrophize.

Why though?

This price is for the 6 months of gametime. The transmog is a bonus. We not paying nothing more than we already pay, the subscription. And it still optional thing, no one need to buy it to stay playing.

Is it like a full moon or something?

Because most people can’t afford to spend that amount of money and they feel like they can’t enjoy all that the game has to offer considering the product already is expensive just to play it.

The game has been this way for over 10 years at this point, apparently it can exist like this just fine.

And it makes more money because a larger portion of the content is slapped on the store instead of ingame, in which case, uh, pick your poison.

But look at how massive the stores in SWtoR and GW2 are, tell me you really want 3 cash outfits for every set of proper gear for your class that gets added.

HEAR YE, HEAR YE! THE END IS NIGH. REPENT FOR YOUR SINS FOR THE TIME HATH FOR FOR AN ACCOUNTING OF THY ACTIONS. PROSTRATE THYSELF TO THY GREAT GNOMISH OVERLORDS FOR ONLY THEY MAY SAVE YOU FROM THE CALAMITY TO COME!

If you want that, then go look at other f2p mmos and how much more aggressive their cash shops are than WoW is, then come back and say you still want it. You wont.

Not the direction I’d go, but ok

How does not having access to an ugly transmog make your game experience less enjoyable?

Maybe it’s ok, but WoW has lost a lot of players and potential new players due to the its price and it hasn’t grown since then. I know there are a lot of reasons besides this one, but I’m just pointing out something that makes a difference.
I have invited, like, 10 friends of mine to play Shadowlands, none of them wants to buy the expansion and just 2 are willing to buy a month of gametime just because we are capped at 50 rn. The sad thing is that they played the game before, some in private servers, and they really love it.

If you feel like you can’t enjoy the game because you can’t justify paying for a transmog then I don’t think I can help you.

The product is not expensive at all, buying a drink at the pub is as expensive as a whole month subscription lol.

This game has been going for 10 years after a subscription + store model was implemented, that is longer than 99% of games lifespans. I’m pretty sure it’s healthy enough.

What might not be healthy is the absolute need to have a cosmetic.

People love playing things for free.

Funny how offering someone something without a cost makes them more inclined to take it :joy:

That’s where you should have stopped… but you kept on…
