I’m fine with the new changes hiding names/HP, but when we can’t change talents mid-match, it sucks to have to guess whether or not a disarm is going to be a completely wasted talent slot or not. Arenas are able to hide identities while still showing you the comp you’re against. Not being able to see anything about the opposing team while you’re talking gameplan or deciding on a talent loadout is really bad.

The enemy doesn’t zone in until gates open, that’s why you can’t see them
In BGB at least, real players display during the warmup as usual
Regular random BGs, it’s part of the new changes. It shows the enemy team once your team has fully loaded in, but in randoms, many games don’t fill in completely before the gates open. I’ve had a few tonight where we were 9/10 or 14/15 and just couldn’t see the enemy team at all until the match started.

It almost sounds like this change is combatting unrated battleground queue droppers.

You can’t have it all. They take action to fix the challenge and when they do people are not happy. No pleasing this player base.

I guess so. But if I’m right and it actually is unrated only…then I’m not sure I’d call that punishing. More of an inconvenience if anything.

Because it is a stupid decision. If they are worried about people constantly leaving THEN PUT A DAMN ACCOUNT WIDE DESERTER.
People will now just leave AFTER it starts like jesus

It’s applied in all modes, but Blitz has a ready check and RBGs you have a full team queuing. Random BGs specifically will start a match without a full team if someone doesn’t accept the pop and they don’t backfill in time, so that’s where it’s an issue now.

Premades are one of the biggest culprits using addons to avoid other premades. Blame the groups you’ve just joined.

Your random bg opponent’s unfilled team comp is on a need-to-know basis, and you don’t need to know.
Not having a full team sucks more than that.

People will just AFK out some seconds or a few minutes into the BG rather than right away, I guess.

If you understood what this was for you would know that what you are describing is exactly what they were going for.
It does exactly what it was designed to do with no meaningful negative impact anywhere else in the game.
