How does this work, I have enough to obtain the Bruto mount, but unable to acquire all the gold to one char I’ve collected through time on multiple chars, the transferring through mail is preventing this, why…is it a guideline a rule to prevent this?
I’ve been able to mail gold to my alts just fine, but in also kinda broke. Maybe it’s the amount you’re trying to send?
I think the most I’ve been able to send between characters was about 20-30k sent to my main. Haven’t tried more than that.
Maybe to prevent selling large amounts of gold for real money? Or at least make it more annoying.

Are you trying to do this through the mail for smaller amounts? Or is it blocking because it’s tracking some kind of daily / hourly limit on the amount being transferred?

yeah, most likely one is your characters aren’t on the same server but it should tell you that
You also have to send the correct amount, i.e. you can’t send 200k gold to a character that already has 9,990,000.
I do find it odd you can trade gold across realms with any random but you can’t mail gold to yourself across realms.
because to randoms its prob a single transaction but to yourself you are desablizing the gold balance on the server… (as if the wow token didnt already do that)
but the real reason is prob the mail coding isnt set up for that and it might be a waste of resources to fix it when (assuming) warbands will solve the issue. no sense fixing a wheel that is getting replaced if the Wheel is still able to hold air, even if the traction is warn out a bit.

All my chars are on the same realm & can’t have one get over 9,999,999, current bid 10,489,999….seems pointless now, if I’m unable to pay for it with all the gold I’ve obtain playing. I do have recordings too to prove it
9,999,999 gold is maxbid on bmah… first person who bids that wins the item.

As far as economies though, yeah wow token and bots have destroyed any semblance of whatever that would have been.
