I have an Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard, i7-5960x (overclocked to 3.9ghz), GTX-1080. I made a post before about low FPS. I’m still getting it horribly. At this point, I’m guessing I need to upgrade my motherboard and processor. Can anyone give me a recommendation for something that I can sustain 60fps+ in raids on graphics 7? I needs to fit my current case, Corsair 760T
Can you afford a Core i7-6950X? It fits your board and it’s a 10 core vs your 8 core.
It would likely be cheaper than a board AND CPU.
Yeah I can get that but will that give me the major FPS upgrade I need for WoW? My fear is that I would upgrade to that processor and still not get high FPS.

You are correct regarding the single thread score Orbaifare. Wow is still a single core game. A Intel 9600k would fit your requirements. Don’t bother with the 9700k or 9900k. Use the money you save on a decent board. 9600k is easily overclocked to 5 ghz.
Here is the Passmark Single Thread page for your study. An overclocked 9600k would top anything on that page.
