Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5200 (PC5 41600) Desktop Memory Model KF552C40BBK2-32 (current manual says this memory is compatible with this board)
I’ve tried XMP1, XMP2 (the CMOS doesn’t have XMP3) in all cases, it goes into safe mode and reverts back to speed 4000. I’m not that good at overclocking. I got the overclocking CPU and chipset since they might be more stable running at the default being that it can be overclocked.
Where are you memory Modules placed in the motherboard?
There are 4 DIMM Slots. A1, A2, B1, B2.
Ram Kits with 2 Sticks should be in A2 and B2 aka (2nd Ram Slot and 4th Slot) If they are not the PC may not Boot. A common thing newer builders do is put them in the first 2 slots. That is NOT what you do. This is the 1st thing to check when troubleshooting RAM
Also I looked into your Motherboard. The Kit is Supported. XMP on that kit is NOT.
This may be what was causing the crash and most likely is. Just know XMP Profiles on that specific kit may not work. The kit is supported XMP Profiles from the kit are not.
When looking up RAM Kits? Check the Box in the search function to just see XMP Profile kits. An XMP Profile Supported kit will say XMP Specifically. Like These Do.
Just because its not on the QVL list doesn’t mean it wont work. It just means that specific kit hasn’t been tested. Moving the RAM to the CORRECT DIMM slots should fix your issue.
Another Option is to return the Kit for a RAM kit that is supported. Like I said it will most likely work in the correct DIMM slots. XMP will not run AT ALL on incorrect DIMM Slots
If you do decide you want to return the kit for a slightly faster 6000mhz kit? This should do nicely. Im a big G.skill Fan their RAM has a lifetime Warranty. This kit an upgraded version of one that is compatible with your motherboard.
However if XMP 2 is working? Just stick with it unless you want the faster kit and can return it. Just putting this out there as an Option. Its 6000MT/s CL36-36-36-96 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09PTGZM6Y
No matter what you decide Best of Luck to you. Glad I could help you get it sorted
Glad to hear its working! I was 98% sure that was the issue. Putting it on the wrong DIMM slots when XMP is on will bootloop you and reset it to its JEDEC memory Defaults.
Solid advice. I made this mistake years ago. I think it took me 3 builds to figure everything out.
Always look at the motherboard’s manufacturers website and get RAM that has XMP support. Enable XMP2, CPU stuff can stay on default since our CPU’s are so fast now, yes even unlocked. My only experience is gaming so other people might really want to OC the CPU.
**Always update your BIOS first and load optimized defaults. If it can’t boot up with default settings there is a problem/somethings probably broken. Then do all the other updates for your motherboard in windows. Then go in and change it to XMP2. Most recent build below and that’s all I had to do. Runs flawlessly.
Win 11
14900k with Corsair H150i cooler
Nvidia 4090 reference(best coolers now)
Strix z790e
Vengeance 64gb 6400 ram
Samsung 980 and 990
A big ole case so I can work in it easily. Fractal XXL I think.
Doesn’t have RBG lighting, but G.Skill tested this for the ASUS Prime Z690-P WIFI and only $99.99 on Newegg. Just purchased it and will return the other modules.
Haven’t actually tested it on my system, but since G.Skill has tested it, I think it will work just fine, but I will let everyone know what happens once I get it.
