This forums seems to like to assume that new players are too stupid to figure anything out and thinks that they don’t actually understand the story or whatever else in the game. Some people on these forums likes to think that new players are too dumb to know how to play their class then the classes should be designed more easier to play in the first place if that was truly the case to begin with.
And these same people thinks that they care about the new player experience are also the ones that are against it. When blizzard tries to streamline the game even further these same people are against accessibility features and Quality of life changes towards the game.
Why I made this thread? Is because everyday there seems to be a thread talking about the new player experience or something similar and if they actually cared about it then why not actually support making the game more accessible but instead of that these same people that say they support having a new player experience are the same ones that is actually against making the game more accessible and more streamlined to play in the first place.

New players aren’t stupid but they aren’t magic either.

I think everyone on the forums tends to think everyone is stupid (if they disagree). I saw a cloud this morning shaped like nothing, I thought it was stupid it wasn’t shaped like a duck. I was walking down the street and saw a guy who i could tell at a glance was the dumbest man alive, as I got closer I saw that it was me in the reflection of a restaurant window.
Hey now, older players are plenty stupid as well

The problem here is that the game itself doesn’t give any motivation to learn what your class does until you’ve reached the end of max level queue content in progression.
There aren’t any PvE performance checks in leveling, world or queue content, and that’s the real problem.
Do you have examples? Because I’m pretty sure these are different people. Some people are gonna like things streamlined and some like button bloat.
People who want eased into their class aren’t dumb either.
Starting people in BFA is a mistake because of where their class is with abilities and abilities needed to do the dungeons there.
you’re talking about different groups of people

some people suck at games. I had to beat the school duel on hogwarts legacy for my wife. It took me 3 tries and I had never played before. She died to it dozens of times.
if she came to WoW, she would hate it.
and round and round you go
you have 160 mounts - even though your achievements indicate you may have started a mouth ago - I am going to bet your aren’t a ‘new player’.
seriously this.
really what it is is a bunch of “think of the children” pearl clutching.
I actually haven’t notice that on this forum. Some people like to pretend they are asking for new players but they really seem to be asking for themselves.
I don’t assume new players are stupid. I assume everyone is stupid.
Its called superiority complex who like to make everyone around them inferior , you see when ppl are failures in life and are treated like trash they come to this game so they can treat other ppl like trash and new players are easy targets because they wouldn’t know anything of the game to be challenged by
What also doesn’t help is stuff like, pffff idk
Me not really knowing how to play Evoker but ending up toward the top of the meter anyway.
I still don’t know what I’m doing with that class.
i just think it’s funny that the lower tier players have asserted themselves as the spokespeople for the “new player”… literally nobody wants to be a hardstuck that storms to the forums to ask for free stuff or cry when there’s a challenge or grind added to the game.
thankfully, i think most new players tend to listen to the average/above average people anyway, so it works itself out!
