Assessment of all classes

So last night I got my last class to max, so I officially have one of every class at 80 which according to the wow video game guide makes me an expert in all of them.

So is like to give my feedback in terms of leveling experience.

Priest: leveled as shadow, pretty fun and engaging…sweet spell effects.

Mage: leveled up as arcane up until 70 something. Arcane is just weird, I wanted to like it but just felt like it was too much effort for little pay off.

I switched to fire and found it a lot more fast paced and enjoyable.

Warlock: leveled up as demo. War fun overall. Little overwhelming managing so many minions, might give des a try, but prefer the summoner fantasy.

Monk: very mobile, hits hard. What can I say.

Rogue: uhh, I tried all three specs and felt like outlaw was the most fun. Sub felt to reliant on CDs, and I’m not a fan of dot specs so sin was meh.

Now all three felt slowish waiting for energy to Regen to fill up my CPs, but I was told this would improve at max level.

DH: same as Monk

Druid: started as boomy, was boring, switch to feral, just felt like sin so didn’t enjoy it as much, switch back to boomy at 70 and had a much better time, especially as CoE since don’t need to juggle eclipses

Hunter: tried MM and BM. Holy crap BM is sooo boring, only cool Thing is that it’s basically a 40 yard melee class.

Mm was just more enjoyable and actually felt like an archer archetype. Why else would you play a Hunter and I right?

Shammy: stuck with ele the entire time, very fun, very proccy.

Evoker: Jesus h Christ, dev is a god damn snoozefest, tried pres for a few dungeons to q up faster and get the class over with and it felt fun and interesting.

But God damn is dev so boring. Just freaking spamming dis all day outside of CDs and emp spells

Really hope blizz makes Aug a full fledged dps spec so I can just play as that. Prefer the bronze dragon fantasy anyway.

DK: leveled as frost. Pretty fun overall. Tried unholy for the mage tower and didnt enjoy it as much.

War: leveled as fury, nuff said

Enhancement is really fun too, highly recommended.

Dev is boring but Fury Warrior’s spam rotation isn’t?

It was the APM wasn’t it.

Eh probably.

IDK, maybe if the range was 40 like all casters might have felt better. Maybe have another thing to press between disintegrate besides living flame

Arcane is fun and my mom says I’m cool :pensive:

The only thing I liked were the flashy effects

It just felt to complex for the same pay off as fire which is much simpler

Okay good, that’s all I like too.

For almost all 20 years my Mage was my main, been Arcane since Wrath. Sadly hes no longer my main anymore, just to many problems that Devs continue to ignore.
Arcane can do massive numbers, but require someone or something to tank for them, otherwise you hope the thing will die during your burn. In the revamp they gave buffs to Arcanes ability to run away, basically nothing to surviability. Running away doesn’t kill mobs, running away doesn’t get quests done. Running away doesn’t beat the respawn times of elites in areas that you are trying to do things in.

Ret Paladin is my main now and I love it, it can basically do everything.

I also finally leveled a druid in Panda remix and now tank with it. Out of all the tanks I like it the best (Haven’t tried Blood DK tanking yet).

Monk: Windwalker…it kills things, not much to say about that. Sadly Monks only have 2 specs.

Fury Warrior: Yup, things vanish before me.

Warlock: I too leveled as the pet spec, found Destro more fun though.

Hunter: BM always, never tired other specs since WoW released.

Unholy DK: Does pet things better than warlock these days.

Rogue: To many issues to list, needs a serious reworking. Only leveled mine to keep up with alch profession.

I don’t touch Balance and Feral as Druid. They are soooo boring.

I agree with your assessment of Hunter. MM was the only spec I played when I was still playing my Hunter.

When you say “leveled” did you spam dungeons or do open world quests?

Both

10 char

Oh cool. Like questing in between queues? That’s the best way to go about leveling DPS specs. I did that with a rogue and thought outlaw was pretty fun. Would never take it into serious content though lol

I mean, I do t11 delves on my mage comfortably. World content is easier and Everything else is group content where every class needs a tank.

I feel like arcane is in an okay spot

Compare it to other DPS classes (other than rogue…of course lol). Mainly the time it takes to do anything.

For delves, I feel like prot warrior has any DPS class beat. Round everything up, burn themdown. I’d just do that if I was on the clock.

Mage is more fun tho

Survival is a fun leveling experience but doesn’t let you swap between MM or BM as easily since its loot spec drops different weapons. You can talent your harpoon so that the cooldown resets on kill, you have several abilities which charge the enemy to deal damage, and you have a cooldown which lets you roleplay as though polearms actually do have a reach advantage over other melee weapons in this game. You’ll be wondering what your niche is when a BM hunter barrage-misdirects all of Undermine meanwhile your bombs do piddly damage against endgame mobs, but it sure is fun when your bombs are chunking leveling mobs. I got to be like my namesake, a melee guy who calls himself Archer.

Fair enough. Its all about having fun after all.
I’ve tried Prot, its okay for me but Fury as my worgen is what I like most with warrior.

Prot+DPS Brann is stupidly efficient in delves. I maintain my warrior solely because it’s so easy to blast him through a delve. Nothing at all is a threat.

It should be looked at honestly

DK - We’re either broken or useless depending entirely on how badly tuned we are cuz devs have 0 idea how to do anything with us

I like delving as Prot warrior too, but I’m not sure it isn’t working as intended. BM+Healer is easy too, because its an easy spec. And if you do happen to take damage, your reactive self-healing is, uhhh, hoping Impending Victory is off CD? Not great.
