Is the all out assault on the maw a mandatory quest to complete to go into 9.2 content.

People who played on the PTR said in another thread that they were able to go straight into ZM on a fresh 60.

that would be better. This is one very long quest. A full day just to get 25% done.

According to Wowhead:
Unlocking Zereth Mortis
To unlock Zereth Mortis, you must work through Chapter 1 of the Eternity’s End, Into the Unknown. You should receive the first quest for the 9.2 Campaign, 
Call of the Primus, the moment you first log in on Patch 9.2’s launch.
There are currently no underlying requirements to unlock the Zereth Mortis storyline for alts. Any alts at any point in the Shadowlands campaign are able to start the questline.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Was concerned if I was wasting my time trying to find the other 3 assault points on this quest.
