Assassination Rogue question

Are the combo points from Echoing Reprimand supposed to work with the new Hero talent Darkest Night (When you consume the final stack of Deathstalker’s Mark, your next Envenom at max combo points is a guaranteed crit and applies 3 stacks of Deathstalker’s Mark)? Mine is not and I don’t normally play a rogue, so I was just curious if it’s a bug or if it’s just not intended to work like that.

Based on wording my assumption is: It’s not supposed to work as you think.

ER causes the finisher to behave as though it has 7 combo points, which is not the same as maximum combo points

It’s confusing because 7 is max combo points. I appreciate your response!

It should be a quality of life change though, using blue combo points should trigger Deathstalker Marks, it’s just natural that it happens.

The Deathstalker Mark is at the moment very bugged, and needs to be fixed. If you have the Darkest Night debuff where you need to use a max combo Envenom to reapply the mark to a target, and the target dies from that Envenom, you don’t get another Darkest Night, so in a dungeon environment, where tanks never stops pulling, Rogues always have a hard time re-stealthing, it was hard before, and now it hurts us a lot more because you can go a long time without your defining hero class ability, lowering your dps a lot.

Also, Vanish is also broken, there are times where you vanish and you get pulled out of it instantly, but even if it was working properly, I feel that right now, the worst part of the Deathstalker Hero spec is that its very limiting how you can apply Deathstalker Mark, it’s just from ambush coming out of stealth, so Blindside does not work, we don’t have shadow dance anymore, and we are not speccing into Subterfuge, so there are so many times where I went without having means to apply the mark in a dungeon, and my dps was severely impacted.

Also, Recuperator is still broken, it stops healing you when you refresh it with cut to the chase.

7 is only max if you talent into it, which is where the confusion comes from I think. I do agree with the guy below that it would be a nice QOL thing to make blue points count as being at “Maximum” for the purposes of procs and such though.

The wording is the same as Hand of Fate which does work with Echoing Reprimand though.
