Im a diehard sub main and gave assassination a try and it actually gave me crippling depression.
People actually play this and have fun? Please share with me how this spec is fun.
The only thing assassination has going for it is single target burst. It has no survivability or utility at all. I hate how much damage it does. I dont want to go 15/0 pressing 3 buttons. To me assassination ruins the rogue class for me.
I go sub and have fun but cant be invited to anything ranked because assassination has such stupid damage. Even though i have played rogue forever and am better than most assassination rogues when i play sub. Looks like im not playing ranked battlegrounds until sub is buffed because i have vendored all of my assassination gear. I’m not going to be forced into playing a spec that i hate to play ranked content.

Same with outlaw. Outlaw is extremely fun and I love the animations buy I’ll never get invited to anything rated plying Outlaw.
I’m forced to play assassin for damage. Sub needs consistent damage and outlaw could use better survivability. Or just fix outlaw and sub at the same time by giving them poisons

Nah, I would rather them keep sub garbage to the point that no one plays it anymore. Hopefully that would wake blizz up and give the spec actual changes that help bring it back to what it used to be while having some new stuff in there.
Giving it higher numbers now will not fix the numerous fundamental flaws that subtlety currently has. Assassination has more or less stayed the same over the years, while outlaw is pretty much a mixed bag depending on who you ask.

Two things:
1: Sub/Outlaw have more utility than assassination but suffer in single target pressure. Outlaw is somewhat fair in this regard because it’s major tradeoff for that is massively increased AOE potential and a ranged stun. Sub just needs to be buffed, badly.
2: Bleeds: The main reason assassination is so important is because bleeds are basically impossible to remove outside of dwarf racials and your own CC. This means other rogues can’t reliably cloak/restealth, and you get guaranteed value for your damage even when you are forced to move out of melee range.
“I don’t want to go 15/0 pressing 3 buttons”…
Garrote, rupture, mutilate, envenom, kidney shot, cheap shot, Vendetta, toxic blade, marked for death, blind, sap, cloak, evasion, sprint, vanish, feint… You have way more than 3 abilities. And you use nearly all of them every single match.

I enjoy Mut because I played Feral for 9 years, and the current state of Mut reminds me of old school Feral. If you don’t like dot management with your melee, then Mut will not be for you.

I 100% agree, I will always play sub thru thick and thin. But it’s hard bc assassination is such a more dominant rogue spec at the moment that no one will inv you to threes and the only twos comp that is viable for sub is with a fire mage.
I’m a super casual player and when I BG I do RBG…but isn’t this true of all specs, all classes? Once you get into the top end raids or BGs it’s all about min/max for the people in charge? Maybe there is some wiggle room if you need a flag runner or some extra cc but it is still a situation where you are trying to get the best spec for the situation.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t buff sub but if they started doing more damage than assas then we have the same problem but in reverse. Sub rogue only. Also, wasn’t sub the go to spec the last 2 expansions?

well, welcome to wow… its always been this way unforch.
Me personally I think outlaw is most fun but im currently having a lot of fun with Assa. I disagree about the damage being low, i can easily top damage meters if i want, and killing healers seems much easier on this class because of my poisons and long stuns.
I donno, i like all the rogue specs but yeah it would be better if they could all be viable / close in terms of performance. But sadly knowing blizzard thats like… prolly never ever ever gonna happen lul
